It's worth noting Cruella didn't just randomly decide to make a Dalmatian fur coat; she did it to spite Roger for refusing to sell her the litter. She is someone Anita considers a friend(Roger himself calls her Anita's "dearly devoted old schoolmate"), and she *continues* to play the part of a sympathetic friend to Anita throughout the whole event of the pups being stolen. This even starts to drive a wedge in the couple's relationship, since Roger's the only one(human-wise) who even *suspects* her of being involved. This was *always* petty vengeance for her, not vanity. That kind of evil is terrifying because it's *realistic*.

And then to mention that horrible terrible way he treated the Romani people that lived in Paris and even burning down all of Paris to get whatever he wanted. But the most thing I don’t like about Claude Frollo is how he treated Quasimodo by lying to him all the time and keeping him locked inside Notre Dame Cathedral for 20 years and the worst thing that Claude Frollo did was let his own adopted child which is Quasimodo be humiliated by the crowd of Parisians after a tomato was thrown at him. Deep down inside me I cried 😭 so hard when I was a child seeing that seen in the movie theater because it was so sad and that Quasimodo was a really good person and of course he is the hero of the movie. Lady Tremaine should have been on this list! One of the main reasons is that she has no material gain from bullying Cinderella, she does it because she can! Take a look at the dress ripping scene where she subtly gets her daughters to notice the materials on Cinderella's dress so that they destroy it, and she smiles while Cinderella's in pain!

The scene where Jafar ordered the palace guards to kill Aladdin when he was Prince Ali puzzles me. How did Jafar convince the guards to do this in the first place? As a potential suitor for Princess Jasmine, Aladdin would have been a guest of the Sultan and thus attacking him would have gotten the guards fired or worse. Jafar likely made up a whopper of a lie to convince the guards to do this, but there's just no explanation in the move for this.

Mushu is evil, both in the original and the sequel. At least his actions save China in the long run but everything he does is for personal gain, and he's willing to risk Mulan's life for it. He's supposed to bring home Mulan safe, but instead he wants to "get her into the war" just because he's ashamed that he broke the stone dragon. And when he realizes that the soldiers will not be sent to the war, he fakes an urgent letter from the general. I have only seen the sequel once and I don't remember much of it, but I do remember him being awful there too. He tries to break up Mulan and Shang also for personal gain, and I have a faint memory that the consequences are quite dire.

Interestingly enough, Frollo`s hatred of Esmerelda stemmed from his own self-loathing. He lusted for her and hated himself for it. My opinion on Gaston is that he did even deserve honorable mention status. He's a bit of an anti-villian. No doubt his ego is beyond ridiculous and he epitomizes toxic masculinity, but he accepted his role as the family breadwinner and was anything but lazy about doing his work. He saw the Beast as a threat to his community and put his own life at risk to deal with the threat. Ended up sacrificing his life as it turned out. Call him many things but lazy and coward are not among them.

Frollo's villainous story is a powerful and sobering tale. He was given many chances to redeem himself, but unfortunately, he never did. His story showcases the dangers of pride and the consequences of rebelling against anything that represents God. Like when he attacked Notre Dame in order to kill Esmerelda and Quasimodo during the climax of the movie. Frollo's character development reminds us that even the most powerful and gifted people can fall into eternal damnation if they let their selfish pride, merciless superiority, and obsessive lust take over their hearts. The movie itself also teaches us the importance of humility and the need to stay true to what is good and right.

Notice how three of the villains in this video (Cruella, Clayton, and Gaston) kill animals. BTW glad to see Shan Yu on here. He's an underrated villain. He's legitimately frightening. And intelligent. And formidable. And whenever he says something funny it's scary "the little girl will be missing her doll. Let's return it to her." The only thing kind of positive that he does was when he realizes Mulan was "the soldier from the mountain" he doesn't react in disgust or complete sexism like everyone else in the movie. He doesn't see Mulan as a woman, he sees her as the badass that killed most of his army and reacts accordingly.

Jafar is interesting because while he certainly doesn't have altruistic motives, it's hard to fully blame him for wanting to be sultan when the real one is so entirely incompetent. The sultan and Jasmine live in absolute luxury while prince after prince come parading into town. Meanwhile, the rest of the population is mostly poor and starving. It's so bad that even Aladdin is forgiven for stealing so I'm not sure how much worse it would really be for the common folk with Sultan Jafar, I think he'd mostly ignore them...kinda status quo.

I wouldn't actually consider Ratcliffe evil. He's certainly an antagonist, but there was plenty of prejudice from the Natives as well. Thomas wouldn't have killed Kocoum if the guy hadn't attacked John and tried to murder him solely for the fact that he and Pocohontas shared a kiss. In fact, he was leading the troops to rescue one of his men that was basically kidnapped and was going to be wrongfully executed.

While no character would ever top Frollo, Pinocchio's villains also disturbed me the most (mainly The Coachman). Mainly because they were not only as realistic as the evil judge in their respective ways, but unlike the Hunchback of Notredame villain, they were the only villains who never paid for their crimes, which is more realistic and sadder when you think about it.

@@hunterolaughlin Kinda agree, but don't be suprised he might get another new and more interesting attraction, after all, the guy's still in business. Either way, the villains were one of the main reasons Pinocchio became my favorite Disney film so far.
