Why is Cinderella on here? We hardly see her and the prince together. He like what, 5 lines the entire movie? Also Pocahantas and John Smith is a strange one. I just couldn't get over how Pocahantas magically spoke English. Would've been better to see them connecting by trying to communicate- like Eric and Ariel. The honorable mentions should've been on the list. Tiana and Naveen are an amazing couple who help each other be better. Tiana is a hardworker and teaches Naveen the value of being able to be self sufficient. Naveen loves a good time and helps Tiana relax a little. Same with Meg and Hercules- she's a cynic who learns to trust again and he's super naive but gets a bit wiser in the ways of the world.

I agree with this 100% Cinderella shouldn't have been on not even Little Mermaid! Princess and the Frog I say had the better connection and had me to re-watch some of the older Disney Princesses that took the time to get to know each other approach. Beauty and The Beast, Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Lion King, and others that dealt with actually knowing the person deserve the top 10.

i feel like no one respects the fact that Cinderella was the beginning of ALL Disney romances. i do agree that she wasn't really a couple with the prince, and getting married at first sight is stupid, but it's a fairy tale, and most, if not all, Disney romances bend reality a little bit.

It goes by so fast that most people don't catch it, but I don't think Pocahontas suddenly speaks English. They are listening to each other "with their hearts" and we just don't see how they are actually communicating, but it is represented that they are speaking the same language.

Ok this is only my opinion, but I personally think there isn't much said or shown about their love story because (for one, they didn't want the movie to drag on forever) it's so personal and romantic that it wouldn't have done their love story any more justice than the creators could give it. I know this is only my opinion, but that's how I personally have always viewed that movie.

Cinderella doesn't belong anywhere near this list. The story is an escapist fantasy for girls. The prince is a blank canvas with zero personality who can be made into any girl's fantasy of prince charming. As a story it works, but they are nowhere near being one of the top Disney couples.

Victims of Stockholm Syndrome will typically end up believing that their captors are right and their actions justified. The captor's attitude doesn't change (unless combined wit Lima Syndrome), it's just the victim's perception. In Beauty and the Beast, Belle is clearly not going to accept the Beast's bullshit. She doesn't want to get out of her room to have dinner with him, she runs away, she confronts him about his temper. The Beast actually changes, and Belle falls in love after he's become agreeable, polite, considerate and more importantly has set her free. Belle never says that she understands where the Beast was coming from, she says that he changed, and thus never justifies his former actions.

My favorite would have to be Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip. Betrothed at birth (and with the narrator giving us a huge spoiler at the same time), Phillip and Aurora grew up not knowing each other. In a mysterious quirk of fate, Phillip and Aurora meet with no idea of who the other is. Their romance blooms when they share similar passions and desire to be with one another. Fate then tests the couple. Aurora is dragged back 'home' and Phillip leaves to see her (and they somehow didn't cross paths half way), only to both wind up in the clutches of Maleficent, metaphorically or literally. Phillip, now understanding that the princess he is betrothed to is in fact the girl he met in the forest, he faces all odds (including a dragon) to get to his true love. That's dedication! While the romance is a little to quick for reality, it does have a very 'Pride and Prejudice' ring to it.

Honestly I would’ve put them instead of Cinderella. While I find Aurora beyond boring, at least Philip (despite he doesn’t know ANYTHING about her) was determined to choose who he got to marry instead of obeying his father’s orders of a political marriage to a princess he doesn’t even know. Plus the dude was already pumped to fight Malificent when she mocked him, knowing full well how dangerous she was.

@@arielanderic I’d say probably 8 or so for me. They’re my favorite of the classics but sadly Aurora hardly appears in half the movie. I get she’s sleeping for like a third, but for me her personality literally starts and ends with wanting to find true love. Maybe if we got more of her processing her aunties lying to her all her life and seen a more genuine connection with Philip they’d be higher. I will give credit Philip was willing to give up his crown and possibly ties to his dad for a peasant, plus he had to fight a freaking dragon alone.

I have said it before and I will say it till the day I die PHILLIP IS AN AMAZING PRINCE! I doubt most guys would fight a dragon, break through a wall of thorns, fight tons of evil little minions, fight against and fight against evil magic for girls they’ve known for multiple years. Melody Clark Actually, I've checked and surprisingly neither the movie nor the stage musical give him a name. In the DVD commentary to the movie, the creators mention that they neglected to give him a name. However, in a licensed CD-Rom trivia game that came out years after the movie, he's referred to as Adam. So yeah, it's official!!! The Beast does in fact have a human name. But you know?! It's gonna be a real trip once the live-action movie re-imaging of Beauty and the Beast comes out, that's when they're gonna give the Beast's character another human name for the movie. Remember Cinderella (2015) when they give the prince a new name for the movie, "Prince Kit"?! Yeah!!! Disney is really gonna piss off the fans even more by giving their no-name princes actual names in the movie remakes. XD

I wouldn’t exactly call Tarzan and Jane realistic, considering he actually almost left his family to experience civilized society in England. Not to mention there is no way Tarzan was able to speak that well in just a few days (yes it was only say a week or two, Jane literally says to Clayton “The ship will be back in a few days”) but they’re still such a cute couple considering Tarzan is so sweet and gentle with Jane, just like John Smith when he was trying to coax Pocahontas into trusting him. Also your comment for Hercules and Meg, Poca and John were the first to save each other, literally willing to die together. Not hate on Herc and Meg, but Meg seduced him at first, basically using him to become free from Hades.

It focused more on just the three good faries being the main heroines, King Stefan and King Hubert and Maleficent than it did on our main couple. Simply because well Aurora and Philip and kind of bland and they didn't even know all that much about each other because they just met at a forest and that's it.

It wasn't until The Little Mermaid until the prince & princess were interesting. Also, in the actual Sleeping Beauty fairytale Aurora doesn't do much. It's hard to make Aurora the main character because her purpose in the story is to sleep.

Their relationship was the core of the film. I believe it should be number one because it was unlikely, because it showed how each fell for the other and not because of their looks or chemistry. Alladin and Jasmine were cute, but his friendship with genie was further developed than romance with the princess and thus shouldn't get first place. That's why I also believe Pocahontas and John smith should have been placed higher. It was their relationship that settled the feud created between the two nations. I mean, Cinderella and Ariel both get nice princes and their relationships are nice, but they feel much more shallow. I would have put Aurora and Prince Philip in the place of Cinderella and Prince Charming. It is because a throw away line of Philip in which he accepts to go marry a peasant girl even if that means stop being in line for the throne. Yes, they also meet for a short time and are lovestruck from the get go. And share a dance and a song. It is the action of Philip leaving the castle and then with the help of the Fairies being able to take down Maleficent and to save Aurora. He gets things done and risks his life and life style for Aurora. And even if they do not talk much in the little time they share together in the screen, at least for me, it is possible to sense this two young people enamoured with each other.

Despite they technically only spent 2 days together, I’m willing to forgive that because they don’t get married at the end of the movie, but they actually have a very healthy yet realistic and mature relationship in the series as sometimes they disagree but work through their rough patches, not to mention how much Flynn trusts her to handle herself when he can’t fight alongside her. But I also really love in the beginning they actually didn’t like each other, she was simply using him as security while he had absolutely no intention to actually take her to the floating lanterns and kept trying to use her sunshine and rainbows and slightly naive persona to his advantage to trick her into giving his satchel back. Not to mention I really love how when he feels he can open up about being Eugene Fitzherbert, he learns to empathize and connect with Rapunzel’s loneliness, but there is always hope things will get better.

She said that the romance between Flynn and Rapunzel slowly bloomed. In reality it was more like a couple days, judging on the movie's timeline. Not judging though, I love them :)

It’s better than Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora all just blindly falling for the first hot guy to pop up. Literally Snow White sings Someday My Prince Will Come, a song about how amazing he is and she can’t wait to marry him. But she literally doesn’t say a single word to him in the entire movie. 🙄 its what Giselle and Robert’s relationship was making fun of. At least Rapunzel and Flynn don’t just get married in the end, they actually spend at least 3 years together building a healthy and more realistic relationship. I mean he even proposed 3 times and she just wasn’t ready, and he respected that and said he’s ready whenever she was. And I seriously love how he understands why she isn’t ready to get married and never pressures her. All he said was she’s stuck with him. And my other favorite couple Pocahontas and John Smith, they couldn’t even be together in the end. I love how they loved each other so much they let each other go, knowing full well they’d probably never see each other ever again, which makes their love song If I Never Knew You that much more powerful yet sadder as they do not regret falling in love, and their love is eternal even if they can’t be together ever again. I kinda like how Poca doesn’t just give up her life or people for someone she didn’t know for long despite she knew how much he loved her (the dude almost died protecting her dad) and she wanted him to survive over staying with her knowing he’d eventually die from his wound.

@@IsabellaKouppi only reason I can’t call him Eugene is for nostalgia/childhood reasons, it just sounds too nerdy for me. 😂 Its kinda similar to how I like Rapunzel with long blonde hair instead of her short brown hair. Those are like the only things I disliked about Tangled (and its my second favorite Disney movie too)
