Elgin Baylor was the king of wasting high draft picks and striking out on mainly all of them. Clippers had plenty of chances to have very talented squad but Elgin couldn’t seem to scout the right players and always drafted power forwards.

the NBA draft is very entertaining... Can't help but enjoy the emotions. About the Grizzlies, it paid off eventually, they got a great team. They and OKC will dominate for a while, just glad to see the Spurs and Lakers outta the way, and be depressed for being a Suns fan. That was a glaring omission on this list. This was by far the biggest Draft Lottery steal of all time, especially when you consider the fact that the Spurs were an otherwise perennial playoff contender whose roster had been snakebitten by injuries that one year. Now I can only speak for the Spurs here, but I know for a fact that there is absolutely no way ANY team would possibly pass up on Tim Duncan if they had won the Lottery. Were there other bottomfeeder teams tanking to get him? I don't know that for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were, and I wouldn't be surprised if Boston was among them. Being a Spurs fan, I know for a fact that San Antonio was NOT one of them. Robinson was limited to 6 games due to foot and back injuries. Chuck Person didn't even play at all. Even Sean Elliott missed damn near half the season due to injury. It was even bad enough that there was an early season coaching change (and an extremely controversial one at that, especially back then), as well as rumors of the Maloofs buying the Spurs and moving them to either Vegas or LA (which thankfully did not happen; Peter Holt bought the team and kept it in town instead).
