Hi I’ve been doing pbn since COVID began 3 years ago in Australia.. I agree with everything you have said, so I’m happy I’ve found you..with long COVID at the moment (10 weeks now) this is all I can do and gardening..no sewing, my first love..or volunteer work, as I can’t drive yet! I’ll continue to learn here while I can..thanks for sharing! I’m no good with eyes, still learning that !

I didn't have magnifying glass so got it on a phone app. Plus I use very bright light as I can't see the smaller numbers .

Can you use a white shapie paint marker instead of white out to cover the numbers for transparent colors?

Hi. Great tips. The set I was working on ran out of black-brown that came with it so I had to use my own. Trouble is it's shiny so looks weird as all the other colours on the canvas are matt. Any tips please?

Cover the entire painting with a varnish or a fixative. If use a semi satin or a good since you already have ghost paints. A matte sealant will dull the shine of the glossy paint but it might not dull the shine enough to even it all out.

like 4 of these tips countered each other. You can’t do smallest areas first, but also start at the top, but also paint all numbers at once, and start with the eyes.

I see what you mean. But you can sort of combine all of those tips if you work through it logically. You can paint each section of an individual number all at the same time to save cleaning your brush more often, whilst also doing small sections first by choosing a number to start with that has lots of small sections, then choosing a number with slightly bigger sections etc, rather than doing it from 1 upwards. You can start from the top, so each time you start with a new number, you get all the smallest sections at the top, larger sections at the top, small sections in the middle, larger sections in the middle etc etc. Then once that dries, choose a new number and start from their highest sections again. When she then suggests starting with the eyes, fuck me, I can’t explain that away 🤣

When there is a very large area of one color what is the best way to get even coverage without brush strokes?

@@feliciafisher3748 well yes, but you can also buy additives. Like flow aid or slow dry. Also try using a larger brush. Or a softer bristle brush. My suggestion would be to thin the paint. Either with flow aid or water. Water lightens color so I use flow aid. So, thinned paint, soft bristles and a wider brush. It goes without saying that the less strokes you make the less brush marks are left behind.
