#9 super underrated - the way he hooks his right leg on the back of the net to sling himself around into the diving wraparound pass. Definitely looks like he did it on purpose. Don't think I've ever seen anyone do that before?

The volleys are amazing. Hitting the puck in the air isn't that hard, but when it takes a deflection, to adapt so quickly and just smash it into the net, that's crazy. Esp the first one, it was insane. How can he be so fast?

I mean, hitting it out of the air is a difficult skill, but not unattainable even for plebeians like us. Add in the pace and pressure of an NHL game, and everything becomes ten times more difficult, and it's really only the more skilled players who are reliably getting airborne goals like that. Not shown in this package, but i'm pretty sure once Petey even batted it across to the other side of the net before batting it in. The only other player i've seen do that is Crosby. Certainly an elite level of stick skills, and he's not lacking on creativity to use them either.

@@ennisdelmar807 yeah, professionals tend to make things look easy. And in reality, they've trained those skills enough that in the moment, it is pretty easy for them. The work they've put in to reach that level of skill is incredibly hard though, and sometimes there may be a natural trait that makes it easier than normal for one person to learn a certain skill.

Last goal was a beaut. But a horrifically boring game (sadly one of the last pre-Co) at the time. Most people were talking about how much their tickets were or looking for gum when the goal happened. But after they just erupted. The hype in the building lasted maybe 5 or so minutes, then reality set in again. Looking for more consistency all around, this year.
