@Stuplubak Yeah man you aint kidding I started just recently looking for stuff Like this errors and all types of stuff... I had no clue what I was doing But I have to go pick up from my lock Box I have some old small face money All of them star notes dollar bills mostly but 5 tens I think a couple 20's...lol... I used to see the star notes as a kid cause I thought they were cool.... I'm 40 years old now I collected it In the late nineties early 2000 I just kept extra money that I didn't need and I could put to the side so I don't have a crazy amount but I got to check them out I guess...

Ya dude errors are sweet. Always amazes me to think they missed inspection are were released. I really love offsets, especially B2F offsets. I considered putting together an entire denomination type set of B2F offsets on small head notes. The deuce is the pricy and scarce one. All the rest could be had for 100-300 or so over face value for a complete offset but the deuce runs about 1K even for a partial or lighter offset. They just didn’t happen on 2’s all that much. Great choice for the top spot. I have a blazing overprint on back $1 FRN that I won at auction. It’s raw but would probably grade a 66/67. Love how the embossing shows through on the front. You need an inverted overprint now and fold over! Keep up the good work

The most incredible part of this list is that 9 of the 12 notes came from 3 shops that sat on them for years without any interest! Eventually I did a mental checklist on what was available and decided to scoop them all up. A B2F denomination type set would be awesome! Even without the $2. Once I am back to work I can work on the fold over and the invert. That's also when I will worry about getting things graded. Stay safe!

Yup. Real errors are extremely rare. I have found very few. I bought most of mine.

I have a 2008 series $1 FRN that is missing its border print. Not completely missing, but way under-inked. It's probably about 15-20% of normal. It's pretty sorry shape, maybe a 30? It's not washed out or faxed as the other 2 obverse prints are fine bot seals and serial number, as well as the reverse. I guess I should send it off to be graded/slabbed. Might could get a nice return. I've only got a dollar in it.

If it’s not uncirculated, it really doesn’t matter. There are dozens of ways to fake this error. Even if it is real, you can’t prove it. Send a pic to [e-mail]

@@Stuplubakcurrency Oh, I know it's not worth much over face. It's just kinda neat. Most of my notes are UNC, CCU or at least F or VF. Also have 5 consecutive serial number Hawaii Overprnt Silver Certs, in ' rag shape ' but they're cool too.

Have you ever heard about a million-dollar bill with Woodrow Wilson on it

Wilson is on the $100,000 note which was never released to the public and only used in bank to bank transactions. They made 42,000 of them and they are all accounted for. There is one on display at the Smithsonian. They are illegal to own. It is the largest denomination ever printed for the US.

Is it considered an error, if one of the digits in the serial number is slightly, yet noticeably different than the rest? I.e.: over inked, or higher off the horizontal line?

Is it an error? Technically yes. Does it add value? That depends. A dark print of a digit doesn’t add anything. But if you have an 8 and one of the circles is completely filled, that would be worth more. Your standard gas pump error ( raised digit) is very common and not really more than a couple dollars. Generally the shipping cost is more than the value. But if you can see part of the next digit, those have real value.

I was debating doing a top 10 small size list but that ends at 1928. Doing the entire 20th century lets me pepper in some large size notes. Good call!

If you are referring to Lady Kid Nickels' suggestion of a list of war notes, then yes. You can go with civil war, Revolutionary war, and WWII ( Hawaii, North Africa, and Phillippines) off the top of my head. As well as the Battleship! But as for unique US Special issues like N Africa and Hawaii, I think just the Phillippines Victory notes.
