My favorite on the topic of breaking 4th wall is in MGS4 in Shadow Moses. At the exact location where in MGS we need to switched to Disc 2, in MGS4 Otacon suddenly call your codec. He told you that "It's time to change disc" before he realized that "We're using Bluray disc now" so no need to switch disc and how "Technology has advanced" I laughed so hard at that part.

You can also kill the End after a cutscene before the actual fight. You can snipe him and instead of him, special forces will appear at the battleground on which you where supposed to confront him.

Yes there is a cutscene at the dock with him in a wheelchair and you can snipe him in the cutscene if you are fast and the boss battle won't take place later. Why hasn't that been mentioned? I didn't know about the old age one tho lol. He also gets pissed off if you kill his parrot during the battle.

Same goes for the facts about the gibberish らりるれろ, but to be precise, we actually have ら-gyo(gyo is how we call the every unit of Japanese kana table, for instance, ka ki ku ke ko is called か行(ka-gyo)), so la li lu le lo is not exactly a literal gibberish, because we do have them as a gyo. What makes this complicated is how we pronounce them: it is a linguistic matter. To put it simple, there are neither ra-gyo nor la-gyo, and at the same time, ら-gyo can be expressed both ra-gyo or la-gyo from the English perspective(we neither have R nor L sound in our language, so linguistically speaking, the best explanation about the ら-gyo is that they sound just between the R and L sound). In conclusion, as the word ら-り-る-れ-ろ doesn't have a meaning in Japanese anyway, it could sound silly and can also be used as a code. Thanks♡

I spent quite a lot of time looking for Meryl's code in MGS. Was running around like crazy looking for another cd in the game. Then I took my cd case to read description on the back and... I felt really stupid at that moment.

Same. I could not figure it out. In the end it was my own mother who said to check the actual box, I must have been 8 or 9 years old and she never took an interest in my video games before. After that moment she was always helping me out on MGS. I was never able to save Meryl during the torture scene, but my mum always managed to tap the button quick enough. I have so many fond memories of the MGS series, and this is one of them.
