And the absence of 3D television support is now the biggest reason movie studio don't release 3D Blu-Rays anymore. It still has an audience (I genuinely prefer watching a movie in 3D than 4K), and with the rise of VR headsets you could think they would at least release the 3D versions on VOD ? But no, you can only watch them in cinemas, where the 3D quality can vary A LOT.

Surprised you didn’t mention how the Segway tech directly gave us the “hoverboards” we have now
@experimental00002 жыл бұрын
The WatchMojo researchers always miss out on other details. This isn't the first or last time that omissions happen. When it comes to tech, they for sure just skim over things to get a general idea but won't read details to substantiate their findings and just make filler using the skimmed tidbits. It's frustrating for sure. I'm not expecting the videos to be deep deep dives, but at least having more information to back up their claims would be nice. I was going to mention hoverboards as well until I saw yours. I already gave some myself

Also Segway: What a shame. To be fair it has led to great technology with skate/hoverboards and was a cool concept. It was just too difficult to navigate, too clunky and WICKED expensive. Didn’t help that the Co-CEO died while using one. That led to its demise.

Been a while since I seen a 3D movie. Wished the television equivalent went big like the movie theaters did for a while. I remember my 1st big modern 3D movie was Journey to the Center of the Earth with Brendan Fraser back in 2008. Certainly not 1st 3D movie or one I seen but the 1st one without the color lenses. I still wore 3D glasses but it is the 1st to use the modern ones like you see in Avatar that came only a year later. That version of 3D then blew up throughout the 2010s. I think my earliest memory of 3D is seeing Spy Kids 3D with the color lenses. It was great to see 3D evolve over a short period of time. Now I have not even seen a movie in 3D prior to COVID. Mainly because the theater I been going to stopped playing 3D movie when they started to reopen from COVID. How sad 3D has fallen the last few years.

One good thing about 3D-TV is the "game mode" or whatever the developers called it. Instead of sending two separate images to each eye, they send half the screen to one set of glasses and the other half to the other set, letting two players play split-screen games and see their half on the entire screen (or Super Mario kart in full screen). Too bad their are not many split-screen games anymore either.

Vista was super stable compared to Millennium Edition. Not to mention Windows 7 (or Vista SP2) was another long lasting OS like XP. Netbooks didn't fail. They just evolved into Chromebooks. (To be honest a netbook running Linux was a good experience vs a netbook running Windows ) Actually, the Federated Universe (Fediverse) is an Open Source social media network that have withstood the test of time as it still exists today. If sheeple would stop using Facebook because of the peer pressure, these other platforms would see more users as that's all that keeps FB alive is peer pressure (and subsequently f.o.m.o.). If people would stop giving in to that nonsense, they'd see there's more out there and can use what works best as FB is not the only choice out there, nor should it be considered the best by anyone because of various needs and use cases.
