So Flo jo ran a 21.34 in the 200, that mean she ran 10.66 a 100 meter, but she have to go around the curve part of the track before she hit the home straight away in the 200, I’m saying that because she has the 100 meter world record at 10.49, but they don’t believe she ran that time do to the wind thing messing up or something like that, but her 200 meter run in that same year should have prove ever doubter that, she might had ran the most superb 100 meter in women history, along with everlyn ashford the great, them sister back in those times where a different breed, they don’t make American black women like that any more, these women and men rely on technology to make them the best, but all it take is a heart to win

@@Haraka111 Yeah, I have researched that one about 3 years ago... Unfortunately, these Caribbean nation runners - Jamaica, Tirinidad and Tobago, Haiti - cannot accept the fact that Flo Jo passed all of those drug tests. They are so bitter because inspite of their "black magics" and herbal medicines for speed and strength, still, their runners cannot even get near the mark set by Flo Jo. They allege that Flo Jo took drugs when they themselves also took on a different kind of drugs. Whatever they say or allege again Queen Flo, Flo Jo will remain "The GOAT" - until such time that a worthy sprinter can break all of her records.

@@Phephe00 Nonsense! A season or two before Flo Jo wasn't even close to running those times, she was a mediocre sprinter with inconsistent results. Check her history up to the 88 games before the rapid transformation with her body and times, it's very difficult to make such a vast improvement so quickly, hence the speculations about drugs. Plus all avid track and field fans know the 88 games were riddled with PE drugs, some were just better at not getting caught. As a point of reference, Marion Jones was tested multiple times and cleared and we only knew she was on PE drugs because she admitted to it.

@@todye4 She also Change coaches and changed her training style. It's not difficult to make that change if you put in the work. I understand having pride in your country, but I don't understand why it becomes such a rivalry between these 2 specific countries. Both countries have excellent runners Kama and you don't have to put the other runners down from the other country just to make yours look better. Not to mention Flo Jo was tested numerous times during the 88 Olympics because people kept saying she was doping and each tiwe're in each time hard drug test came back negative
@todye4

@@Phephe00 She changed coaches after the ran those fast time in 88 at the US Olympic trials. as I said her time leading up to 88 were mediocre compared to the competition. Her fasted time in 84 was 10.99; athletics was a part time activity for her thing for her - she didn't participate in competitions as much compared to her peers. She even stopped completely 85/86. She returned in 87 with 10.96 PB and finished that year with 11.13. She started her season very late in June 88 first race 10.89 then 10.99 before US trials where she ran those ridiculous time (some wind aided and I do thing her 10:49 was aided as well because of the conditions that day and all other times clocked a wind reading). So for someone who didn't have a lot of races to get into form for the trials and still ran those times it is highly suspicious. With other top athletes today you can see the incremental reductions in with the PBs over time so it's not a surprise but with her she just doesn't have the enough results that supports the 88 times. 1983 11.06 Bruxelles (BEL) 26 AUG 1983 1984 10.99 Berlin (GER) 17 AUG 1984 1985 11.00 Stadio Olimpico, Roma (ITA) 07 SEP 1985 1987 10.96 Köln (GER) 16 AUG 1987 1988 10.49 Indianapolis, IN (USA) 16 JUL 1988 I am not sure what 2 specific countries you are referring to because I never mentioned countries in my initial replay to your post so I am a little confused with your accusation. Furthermore, my country was not in the women's 100 finals at the 88 games so not sure who I was trying to look better.

Jarmila Kratochvílová's 1:53,28 (1983-oldest WR) in women's 800m and Marita Koch's 47:60 (1985) in women's 400m are still standing and are almost unbreakable like FloJo's records. All 3 were tested negative but we all know that they were juiced. Between 1982-1987 FloJo's SB were around 22 seconds and out of a sudden during 3 months (July-August-September 1988) she ran all those unbelievable times. Hard to believe it, but there's a baby girl somewhere who is going to break the GOAT's records one day. She's training, eating right, doing all the right things and when she breaks these records, Jamaicans are going to acuse her of cheating. They're some of the most hateful people when it comes to black American achievement. Stop hating other black people.

It’s a shame you take this so seriously, Sports is meant to enjoy and celebrate the rewards of hard work. And for you to make this claim is heartbreaking and I just think you’re the one being xenophobic. Most Jamaicans are nationalists but also one of the few who will genuinely cheer you on regardless of your background. And what if that baby girl is a Jamaican or of another nationality, what will you do then?

@@keneishaedwards532 In that case it would make you all look really bad. Most of the hate she receives comes Jamaican fans, so who's really taking this too seriously? I'm just one of those Black American Yankees who will defend her in the midst of so much vitriole on the parts of you Jamaican fans. Y'all talk about her hair, her mannerisms, running form, her confidence is attacked and called braggadocio, you name it. It's sad to see you all perform that way, but it's apparent, your ideas of black Americans come from what you learn from white american media who loves highlighting the worst of black people in n America. Guess what though, she's among the best of what black Is. You Jamaicans should get to know us and stop acting like chocolate covered white people.

@@ConsciousFBA Sir, you generalize too much, I’ve seen everyone talking about FloJo and I was wondering who she was since I’ve never heard of her before. Turns out it was Florence Griffiths, I had heard of her before and I’ve seen her perform, all good things as a matter of fact. And her technique is extremely good. So I can attest that I’ve only heard good things about her (in Jamaica) but I cannot deny the hate she receives just because I haven’t seen it. I will say that is quite unfortunate as she is a great athlete and credit needs to be given to her where it is due.

@@keneishaedwards532 My opinion is based solely on the interactions I've had with Jamaican fans. You see, there's a lot to love about Jamaican athletes, it's their fans that are the problem. The constant criticism of American athletes, the persistent hate of our greats like Flo Jo. I just came to the conclusion that I would no longer let the slick things you all say about our people slide. Besides, Jamaicans are often very condescending towards black Americans as evidenced by my own personal face to face interactions with some. One woman even told me she would never marry a Yankee. Ironically this same woman's Jamaican husband got her kicked out of the U.S. military because he got caught selling drugs. He was deported and she was discharged. I digressed but the nerve of her to say anything disparaging about black Americans. You all think you're better than us for some strange reason and there is nothing to support that notion. We're simply not going for the disrespect.
