@@RadioForYourSleep Comparing to many other countries it's a much smaller pool of athletes to pick from, a nonexistent college athletic system and only about 2 recognized athletic sport club; I think a country of just over 2 million people dominating a world athlete event is absolutely remarkable. It's not unreasonable to see a country like China of over a billion people dominating table tennis but country of little over 2 million dominating the world stage is unlikely.

They eventually got their citizenship and some ran for the US, Canada, England etc. Some married, had kids and they ended up in track representing these big nations.

Yep, Merlene Ottey was cheated, but since the race was in Atlanta, they had to give it to the American. Usually the fastest closer wins at the line because they have the greater momentum, but not when it is an American on American soil.

Whatever happened to her? Why did she not defend her title at the next Olympics? Was her win PEDs driven? Note that the Jamaican women compete in multiple Olympic games, and always defend their Olympic titles. Shelly is my favorite, but I said in 2016 if Elaine stays healthy she is gonna run something crazy. I do not believe she is done yet. If she stays healthy, I believe she will do something special.

Gail Devers did not win the 100 m title in the year 2000. It was Marion Jones but her medal was removed due to drug charges
