I would also add…Ms. Ellie giving JR a letter from Jock when he was the only child at the time. It motivated JR to press on. I think the quote was… “I will never let those bastards get me down.”

As usual, it's tough placing, but I'd put JR and John Ross ahead of Bobby and Christopher. I'd also put Bobby and Jock in top 10 along with JR and James. One of JR's greatest lines was "you have no morals, you have no scrupels. You just might be worthy of me yet!" Whatever the problems were with the last two seasons of Dallas, JR and James were entertaining.

Jock and Bobby weren’t that bad, outside of that one confrontation. After all, Bobby was Jock’s favorite son. Jock and Gary were more of a dysfunctional father-son relationship, including in the will where Jock placed a restriction on Gary’s trust fund. Jock should really have put a restriction on Ray’s trust fund given Ray’s lack of experience in handling big money. He also should have restricted JR’s trust fund since JR nearly bankrupted Ewing Oil twice.
