Hear me out...the Friendship feature problem could easily be fixed if your rivals/other enemies also had benefits from Friendship. You dont even have to do it for all villians. For example, I could 100% see villians such as Guzma (i know he isnt really a bad guy but still), Lusamine, and Giovanni having these benefits since that would be very in character for them to have them. I cant see characters such as Faba having them however. You could also fix it by 100% by allowing all your enemies to use potions as well as maybe have other regular items on them. Have it start out slow with simply potions and oran berrys but then have it transition to max potions and 1 max revive. And just simply dont give them to specific characters such as gym leaders, kahunas, Elite 4 members, and legendary battles. You dont necessarily have to remove features to make a game harder In summary, just let your rivals and enemies have the Friendship and potions abilities since the player can. And if you think it may get to hard for certain battles just remove them

No… I don’t really think that is a good idea. Bad RNG is already frustrating to deal with, I get paralyzed 3 times in a row, and my opponents 55% confuse ray hits 90% of the time, if my opponents had also just a random chance to survive a hit, dodge an attack, or buffed critical odds, I would probably hate playing the game, especially while doing things like Nuzlocking.

That honestly creates a bigger problem. I don't want every one of my moves to become Focus Blast and miss for no reason - Freindship mechanics just makes randomness even more annoying. I'd rather it just be a toggle in the settings.

*Answer to the first comment:* Sorry the friendship benefits of the newer games is RNG hell. If the game decides for you you don't have any control over it. For example you go for the KO on Cynthia's Garchomp only to get the "survive at 1 HP" friendship BS twice in a row while you get absolutely obliterated by it in return and don't get saved by the game... Return and Frustration + the friendship based evolutions were completely alright (it would be good if we could see the friendship progression of our Pokémon though). Pokémon has way too many RNG situations. That's why I love ORAS where you can pinpoint the Pokémon you want if you catch it at least one time.

I think the better option would be to give players the option to turn it off... like what people are wanting with the exp share. Wouldn't be to hard to implement it either.... just one boolean variable added and have the bonuses check that variable before going to see if they apply.

Version exclusives should only be the legendary that’s on the box art. It makes no sense to have normal Pokémon be locked to a specific version. The paradox Pokémon in scarlet/violet make sense cuz it’s different themes but it’s stupid that I have to have scarlet if I want a drifloon

@@TKDPandaa Honestly, I think the removal of HMs has been a big problem for Pokemon's level design. I don't think they should've been removed myself, but just retooled, like they were in Let's Go and BDSP. You see, without them, you get flat, boring hallway worlds that have nothing interesting to see, like Sword and Shield. HMs integrated metroidvania style level design into the game since the beginning, and offered lots of extra and optional nooks and crannies to explore, should you return to prior areas with new navigation abilities. Just using Kanto as the example, when you first start in Pallet Town, you see water but can't do anything with it yet. On the way up to Pewter, you see all these Cut trees you can't do anyhting with yet, and a whole bunch of items and areas you can't reach because of it. You also see them in Cerulean. Once you finally get Cut, the main path to continue the story requires it, but there's also all the optional areas you can now explore and find things in, from Diglett's Cave to the 2nd half of Route 2. This sort of deep level design is entirely missing from modern Pokemon games, so once you leave an area, you have almost no reason to return, and thus the worlds have been extremely bland since they got rid of them. Not only that, but also the actual dungeons and puzzles, like Ice Path in Johto or Seafoam Islands in Kanto with the Strength puzzles and environmental traversal.

With that said, I don't think HMs fit in S/V, but their spiritual successor, the Herba Mystica, do, as they enhance Korai/Miraidon's movement.

Cutscene skipping really needs to happen, but also for in battle cutscenes. I never caught all the legendary Pokemon in Sword because I was so tired of seeing the dynamax animation all the time, and also because I hated max raid battles

I purchased the Sword and Shield cartridges advertised to be with DLC. Loaded up in airplane mode and the cartridges wouldn’t run. Kept demanding internet. This is ridiculous. I find it astonishing that Pokemon still doesn't have voice acting. They want to emulate Zelda, yet this option is oddly missing. I also agree with your dislike of the bike legendary. People want to enjoy their partners. Maybe allow a few Pokemon the ability to ride, so you at least have the option to change it up. Stuff like tree cutting or rock smashing could also be assigned to tools like a hammer or ax that you could customize

I definitely agree with these evolution methods. The new evolutions in gen 9 and even some in gen 8 are just really impossible to figure out if you're playing without a guide or looking on the internet. Like how am i supposed to know galarian yamask needs to take a certain amount of damage without dying and then go to a certain spot in the region to evolve it? Like if they are gonna continue with these types of evolutions, at least have NPCs give hints on how to do so. Video was amazing as always!!

Some evolutions method are really nice and interesting so I think they should instead add npc that at least hint you on how these pokemon can evolve. It would made the world more lively and your adventure more immersive. Old games had these kind of npc that told you random fact about pokemons, it won't seem odd to get them back...

And yeah, some evolution mechanics are insane... for example, Galarian Yamask has to take 49+ damage at Dusty Bowl. Like how the heck are we supposed to figure that out without cheating? Theres some though I understand but idk how it would happen without version exclusives like the Paradox Pokemon. I agree with Renegade's take on 3rd games, though, there are like extremely good games like Platinum where they're different from the first 2 games. I disagree myself, because the thing that the DLC won't solve is the problems with the base game, like the third versions have. The third version was the chance not just to add a bunch of content to the post-game and such, but also to actually fix the issues with, or improve the base game. Emerald combined the stories and you face both teams instead of just one. Not only that, but the major story beats are much more enticing than before; all three legendaries show up and cause nature to go haywire, and you can get all three after the league. Platinum fixed a myriad of issues base DP had, from roster limitations to the actual speed and polish of the game engine. Platinum's HP bars may be just as slow as DP, but literally everything else around it is faster: Walking speed, surfing speed, battle animations, there's no lag on the overworld and there's no lag between moves being selected and executed like DP. That's just the engine problems being addressed as well, the story got improved and it has far more postgame than DP had. None of these things are things we'd see with mere DLC, and so if the base games suck, like Sword and Shield, they'll always suck; the DLC won't save them.

I would like to ride and use my own Pokemon in the overworld, but I don't want HMs to come back. I like the Bike Legendaries, so I guess it would be nice to have an option for other Pokemon to help if you don't have a Pokemon that can do that but if you do, then they'll come out and help you. The thing I want to get rid of more than anything else? TRADE EVOLUTIONS Version Exclusives are one thing, but these Trade Evos have been joy killers for years!!! I agree that some Pokémon should have easier evolution methods. Some should evolve by level up while knowing a certain move rather than having to use that move a number of times(Rage Fist on Primeape, Psyshield Bash on Stantler, etc.). Sylveon should at least have the option to evolve via the Shiny Stone or Dawn Stone, Espeon with the Sun Stone, and Umbreon with the Moon Stone or Dusk Stone. There is one thing that I think should be removed from Pokémon that wasn't mentioned in this video: letting legendary and mythical Pokémon have a shiny. If lore mattered and/or it was explained effectively, why would shiny forms for legendary and mythical Pokémon exist, especially if it seems like there's only one of that Pokémon that exists in the world? Besides, a lot of them can only be obtained from mystery gift events, and those aren't special like they used to be. Nowadays, they just give it to you rather than triggering an in-game event where you can catch it.

The Scarlet and Violet uniform thing is a mess. Even if you want to insist that the uniforms are necessary for lore, I have one question for you: Why in the world can I not change out shirts, vests, jackets, ties, shorts, pants, sweaters, etc? Why? And don’t tell me the specific combinations are required by the school. Other characters clearly do other combinations. There is only one reason the characters are currently limited to 8 uniforms per game: developers being lazy. I can think of no other reason.

Gen 9 is the WORST of them all. The story doesn’t feel like it has proper buildup, the Gyms suck as does battling the Pokémon on this mess of a map, Paldea is a GHOST TOWN when it comes to side activities and this generation has, in my opinion, a LOT of BAD/HORRIBLE designs for the Pokémon. I actually dissagree with removing hms. While I can see why people wouldnt want it to take up a moveslot, I feel like even with this, it adds an extra layer of depth that we've essentially lost. It made it so you used your mons, and you had to manage your resources, and plan which mons you wanted to have on you. Exploration just carried more depth. I actually have an interesting proposal. Instead of having it so that an HM permanently takes up a move slot, make it so that you can teach a mon an hm, and it can remember an hm, even if it gets replaced later with another move (Id say probably only 1 hm at a time though) This way, you still have the depth of having to plan out which mons to use, and how to use hms efficiently, without it taking up as many move slots. Maybe even give the basic hm moves added effects like strength increasing attack stat, and cut being super effective against grass.

Yo-Kai Watch has done a lot of things Pokemon should've. Skippable cutscenes, watch ranks as a check point system (gain both progression and more creatures to find and new optional areas at the same time) multiple save slots, the western version of Yo-Kai Watch 3 was a fusion between both dual versions and the third version which made you choose which base version you want to play and that's even better with multiple save slots (still have to trade tho...). Also your shiny sandwich luck is just trash. I literally found shiny hunting in SV to be to easy to the point that I started hunting in those 1/8192 games, 1/4096 is just the best base odds while still allowing for methods to be viable. Also i wish they didnt say "but our DLC" prior to fixing all the issues and having actual gameplay in it. If you dont wait for gameplay Pokemon games might as well be a Kickstarter made buy a "triple AAA" studio (do you know how many people work at Game Freak? There should be way more)

Remove trade evolutions legends evolutions were cool. Get rid of two versions put everything in one game. Get rid of only having easy mode.. I would have gyms start at lvl 50 so they can give they the best iv and ev builds make them more challenging and use for it outside of competitive. The could focus on story and not make the gyms apart of progression

Erase all super bicycle and Legendary motobikes and make every pokémon a ride based on their size and make groups that work like HMs, every Pokémon could have 2 or 3 functions on the world based in their physiognomy, Dex entries and Types, if Monster Hunter Stories did on 3DS Pokémon can do on Switch(Monster Hunter did again in Monster Hunter Stories 2 on Switch)

I think 3rd version is better than DLC If u wanna play the game in its fullest best experience with a DLC, u have to pay 90 dollars But with tje 3rd version u can just wait for it to drop instead of buying the base games. That way u only pay 60 Problem is that people like to play stuff as soon as it comes out instead of waiting, just be patient. Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, were a cashgrab, but if we didnt buy the base game and waited for an hypothetical 3rd version to come out, maybe we woulda saved 60 dollars, or maybe with how low the sales were thwy woulda never dropped USUM and u coulda bought the game then😂 Meanwhile some people had to pay for the same game twice, I didnt buy Sun initially because I knew they were gonna drop something else and they did, so I only played Ultra Sun

Omgosh Mark!!! I did not expect a YT video with the Rogue Renegade!!! That was such a surprise!!! Omgosh y'alls collab was great and the video was too!! Y'all made some pretty good points, some I agreed with was the uniforms, the balanced anime power by ur side mechanic, FPS and graphic issues and some others! And yeah, some evolution mechanics are insane... for example, Galarian Yamask has to take 49+ damage at Dusty Bowl. Like how the heck are we supposed to figure that out without cheating? Theres some though I understand but idk how it would happen without version exclusives like the Paradox Pokemon. I agree with Renegade's take on 3rd games, though, there are like extremely good games like Platinum where they're different from the first 2 games. And on shiny pokemon, theres multiple takes on it bit people feel like shiny pokemon are not special anymore because they're not rare enough like older games.
