Is BDSP really THAT bad...?!

As a person who never played a sinnoh game until BDSP came out, I'd say it's nice. Yeah it has alot of flaws and couldve been alot better but to me its not that bad, I really enjoyed it when it first came out especially when the glitches you couldve done before the patches for them. The game was just fun to me id enjoyed my time with it. I recently finished up Platinum, and I'd say it's way better than BDSP. It could've included Platinum content, which would've been great.

Yeah I agree! It’s great if you’ve never played the originals. But even the originals were never considered great. Platinum is 10x better so I don’t understand why Nintendo didn’t implement more of its content.

BDSP are fine, definitely better than DP in spite of some questionable additions _(like forced EXP Share without any changes to trainer levels, or the major difficulty spike at the Pokemon League),_ but they would've been way better if they included Platinum changes _(as Platinum could've used some touchups)._

The main reason I don't like it is because for some reason, they didn't put all the mystery gift events into this nearly 20 year old game and _still made them download only and time sensitive._ I borrowed a copy of Brilliant Diamond to see how it was, and I was shocked to find out they still had mystery gifts and they were all already past. I was beyond ticked off.

HeartGold and SoulSilver were based on Crystal with Gen4 elements. And AlphaSaphire and OmegaRuby were based on Emerald with gen6 elements. But ShiningPearl and BrilliantDiamond were not based on Platinum, but completely ignored the fixes and improvements of the third version. If ShiningPearl and BrilliantDiamon had been based on Platinum and been close to ILCA's concept art or the art style of Let's Go, then it would have been ok.

They could've balanced it a bit better - the league is a bit too tough for what you available at the time - some easier way to affect EVs or buy better items would've been nice. Still, it's nice to have some challenge in a Pokemon game for once. Meanwhile on the opposite end of the spectrum, you have stuff like Cyrus's Weavile _(at Spear Pillar)_ with Metal Claw, Dig, Aerial Ace and Fling (which would be 10 power due to holding a Chople Berry). I guess I get what they were going for, what with it using the berry to survive a hit, then stealing your item with Pickpocket, but- no, that just isn't a good set. If Weavile could have Technicial as an ability, I would've understood it more, but no. Even the original DP had a better moveset for this Weavile.

Even though the game has chibi characters in it,the remasters weren’t always in that art style which there are actually official concept art on how they were originally planned because the pictures showed BDSP having the 3D mechanics from Sword/Shield and it would’ve been cool riding a bike around Sinnoh with the 3D mechanics from Sword/Shield. Some other things that were originally going to be in the game was the platinum dex and Pokémon from gen 5-8 appearing in it. Despite the game having chibis,I’m fine with it but,it would’ve been better if they added the original concept art of it instead of the chibis now thanks to Masuda he changed the original art style into chibis and the one to blame too. Honestly,GameFreak is a pathetic company in my opinion.

Most people regard them as some of the worst of the series. That’s why platinum is regarded as one of the best, because it fixes everything wrong with the originals. They had great potential (both remakes and originals) but it was kinda wasted. And jirachi is a very valid reason for buying this game lol

This is the worst pokemon game I've ever played. The glitches are the only thing that made it fun. I duplicated boxes of mews had a bidoof with roar of time and beat the game with 5 gym badges entering the hall of fame woth a lv 1 happyne

@@sethstewart9704 for me, since I’m a huge pokemon fan, I just expected more. It felt lazy on gamefreaks part. I played through pearl a few weeks before and the game really didn’t improve much at all. I don’t think it’s a bad game, but if I’m playing base gen 4, I’d much rather play the OG pearl. The art style is more appealing to me and way less buggy. But I can definitely understand why people enjoy the game. Just not for me.

For all the people complaining about no platinum content in BDSP or even Emerald content in ORAS, it's because gamefreak wants to make money off the third version by remaking them again, like let's go Pikachu and Eevee, so don't worry, you'll get Vomit green emerald and Polished emerald along with Rusty platinum and gimme your life savings platinum coming to your nearby stores 🎉

No. Atleast not for me who has never played a Sinnoh game before. Really we were told what they were from the start. Plus Legends was the real Sinnoh game made for switch, BDSP was to just hold pokemon fans over, hence the outsource to ILCA. Also the reason you got the mythical pokemon from the old people is because you had save data for other Pokemon game on switch. Lastly Nintendo published the game, but it was made by ILCA as i said before, but normally pokemon game are made by Gamefeak. Have. Good. Day. Bye.

Yes. That makes sense. I think it can be a fun game for first timers. But normally remakes are improved versions of the older games. This game didn’t improve on much and mostly acted as a texture pack (you can tell by how the npcs move) I also agree. But seeing how they handed ORAS they definitely set the bar very high so it was sad to see this is what happened to the next game. And thank you. I did figure that out hahah. Kinda wild tho. Lastly, I did know that going in to the game. I just wish gamefreak intervened a bit more to make sure it was up to quality (but I guess seeing how S&S turned out it’s not that surprising). Have.
