Magtatanong nanaman po ulit ako. Direct hire po ako, ni refer po ako ng kaibigan ng kamag anak ko sa isang mushroom farm bilang isang Agricultural Stream/er. May LMIA na po ako, may consultant po si employer. Nakapag fill out na po ako ng ibang documents at nakapag pasa na po ako kay consultant ng requirements para sa work permit. Itatanong ko lang po sana kung possible po ba na ma approved yung work permit ko at maka pasa sa immigration diyan sa canada kahit wala po akong experience na related sa magiging trabaho ko diyan sa canada? Bale business ad po kase natapos ko at ang experience ko po ay sa audit/office base. Sana po masagot mam. Maraming salamat po.

I think it’s a case to case basis. I was able to land a job in HR, it depends din sa designation mo. Mine is more of a coordinator/recruitment role, siguro kung managerial role ang hanap mo baka mas challenging. I started with temporary contracts to build and establish my portfolio. It somehow worked for me.

Fair warning! Kung masaya ka sa Pinas, huwag ka nang mag tangkang mag migrate sa Canada, USA o Australia! Kung desidido ka, alamin mo kung ano ba ang alam mong gawin ất meron ka bang temporary housing, until you find a permanent place to stay! Sa Canada, Quebec province speaks French,kung wala kang French language knowledge don't go there. Ontario is English speaking province.Kung ikaw ay isang manager sa Pinas, don't expect to get a manager position right away, unless you are exceptionally good in management. Happy work hunting!

How do you prove your transferrable skills though? For example you are an English teacher and you want to do hospitality jobs, since it both require good communication and social skills... How do you try to explain that in your resume sa Job Bank website ng Canada? They'll probably take the candidates who had hospitality background instead. Or do I find a job posting that says their requirements are not that strict? (Edited for grammar)

Honestly, I never applied in the Job Bank, I’m not sure of their selection process. It really depends on your skills and with the employer. Your CV will be a very good representation of yourself, if they find that you have useful transferrable skills, you can be noticed by an employer. That’s why it’s so important to create an effective CV that will stand out from the rest.
