No way Rose Bowl wasn't top 5... you got the most iconic CFB stadium and bowl game in history, with two of the most winningest programs in the sport, Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh, two generational coaches, the greatest BIG 10 school v greatest SEC school, two classic uniforms in the maize & blue v the white and crimson, the fact that its not only the rose bowl with Michigan, a big 10 who traditionally plays at rose bowl anually anyways, who has made most RB appearances ever behind USC. You have players like Jalen Milroe, JJ McCarthy, and Blake Corum, a primetime playoff matchup on a sunny day in LA on New Year's Day, 96k watching from the stadium and at one point over 32 million watching across America. This game not only goes to overtime but ends on 4th and goal on the 3 yard line and you did not even put this into the top 8? Crazy. The storylines in this game also... Jim Harbaugh suspensions, Michigan "cheating", going into a 3rd straight CFP and going undefeated in regular season with one of the greatest defenses in recent history, and Bama whom were 1-1 record-wise and benched Milroe at one point. Then you have the miraculous throw from Milroe to Bond against Auburn on 4th and 31 that kept their season alive and them upsetting the #1 Georgia to controversially advance past FSU to play the Wolverines... I am of course biased as a Michigan fan but Bama is my most hated team, so how this wasn't at least the eight best game this season (many think it to be no 1) is mind boggling. Just because LSU and Ole Miss nearly 100 points total on the game and was offense-driven doesn't mean it was the "best" game. Sorry for that long ass comment

I mean, we can all understand that Alabama versus Michigan wasn’t the greatest game of all time. The greatest games of all time was Michigan versus Ohio State, Alabama versus Auburn in Oklahoma versus Texas. All great games, but if you have the Rose Bowl at #9, you're nuts. Maybe not the best played or the most fireworks, but two of the most legendary programs in history in the sport's most iconic game with a trip to the natty on the line? That alone is enough for at least top five, not to mention how it all played out.

ok, first of all, the Rose Bowl at 9 is a travesty, but secondly, I thought for SURE the Sugar Bowl would be on top. I was so confident. To not even have it in the top 10 at all is insane. Take out Kentucky Clemson or one of the Kstate games. Sheesh.

Rose Bowl should have been #1. If I made Power Rankings that was #1-#2. My coaching rankings had it as #1-#2 (though reversed and Harbaugh is tied with Kirby Smart for #2) The most iconic venue in all of college sports. And it went to overtime for the cherry on top. That game was an all time classic.

I’m as biased as they come (Michigan fan) BUT objectively, Rose bowl has to be number 1 or 2. Greatest defense in recent history, storylines, and two of the premier programs in CFB. And to mention it’s not often that a game that hits the under is one of the best of the year

So everybody seems to be harping on the Rose Bowl being down at number nine, and rightfully so that’s top 5 at worst, but I’m gonna harp on how Ole Miss and LSU is not the number one game. Track meet does not equal best game man. Game had almost zero defense, besides that hit on Daniels, and that’s not even that special cause Daniels was putting himself into sketchy hits a bunch this year. Hell the ending wasn’t even really crazy or anything. The stakes weren’t really there. It was a good game sure, but best of the year? Nah.

Oregon-UW and Rose Bowl were both wayyyyy better than Ole Miss-LSU. More points does not equal better football games. That was atrociously played by both defenses. Not all high-scoring games are like that. But that was ugly. A good game, but not top 10
