Hat man is terrifying. About 15yrs ago a good friend of mine was on this anti anxiety medication for a short time, and one of the side effects he had to deal with was sleep paralysis. He would tell me about his endeavors, that a group of shadow people lead by the man in the fedora. They would slowly creep closer and closer until they were standing directly over him. Those stories scared the shit out of me, and it wasn't until later in life that I found out that hat man is a common occurrence for those who suffer from sleep paralysis.

There's a [claimed] true story from this family....a man would suffer from sleep paralysis, he would see the "old hag" and an old man. He said often 1 of them would be on top of him hitting at him and scaring him etc...and the other would be off to the side either standing next to him or sitting in a chair in the room next to his bed, laughing [or cackling] and he couldn't move until the episode was over. Well, his 2 grandchildren had been visiting him [a boy and a girl], they had woken up from their grandfather screaming during the night, they went to check on him and according to the children, they seen 1 of the entities on top of their grandfather and the other in the chair, they disappeared in front of them. They were terrified. It's [true] stories like this that make me feel there's more to this than just hallucinations. Not everyone will believe this nor all other paranormal events but it's hard not to believe that there's something more to life than just this one here and now. Life after our deaths, is a mystery to most and for the rest, it's just a part of something much bigger.

I find it annoying when typical ghost hunters ask for noises and knocks just to scream or run away, Ian was so calm and respectful, I also found it strange he was able to catch so much activity until I remembered he was more than likely communicating with a former ghost hunter, this was incredible to watch. The clip of the reporter in the rain and the “odd” thing on the stairs was later proven to be a member of the news crew who was trying to duck down to avoid being in the shot. If you look closely you can see them holding equipment in their right hand. Unlike our eyes/brain, cameras have to try and process the image differently and when there is a bright light source behind the lens shining into a dark area, often times it can’t pick up the whole image if person has dark hair or wearing dark clothes. The result is very distorted images. The reporter saw him but didn’t react because she knew who it was and what he was doing. This issue is further enhanced with infrared cameras like home security cameras. If you are more than 10ft away from the camera and wearing dark clothes but say white tennis shoes, the camera will only process the white shoes and possibly a translucent figure if the IR light reflects off of you. I literally have hundreds up hundreds of video clips from my Ring system of my son walking by a camera, in dark clothes, and no lights on and it looks like a straight up apparition keeps walking from our kitchen to his room all night long.

Idc if its real or not, Ian is so adorably excited by everything. It's so nice to see a paranormal investigator that doesnt run off screaming in the opposite direction. He genuinely just looks so pumped and only gets a little bit spooked when something actually upsetting happens. I have seen many paranormal/demonic entities in my lifetime. Hat man was at the top of the list because he looked solid like a person just standing there, although I couldn’t make out any features. And he stood there for a few minutes without moving. Shadow man on the other hand was partially transparent and moved about. Both were terrifying!

I worked with a guy from Del Rio whose family had a witch get mad at them, and she sent an owl with a womans face to attack them on their rural farm. His dad sent everyone in the house and went out with a bible to confront the evil. His story still obviously affected him, but he said his dad vanquished the demon. I still get chills thinking of it!

The first video is really well done if it's faked; spooky and simple. The only thing with a lot of these videos that always has me leaning to fake/hoax is trying to really put myself in the mindset of someone who decides to randomly film an area of their own home for no real discernible reason.
