Completely understand. These are simply elements I found, compared with some rivals. Could I ask, are there any points of the MU-X that you don't like?

This was a great down to earth and practical review. Thank you. I'll be happy with the South African trim LSE with the 18inch wheels and without all the safety systems that need to be turned off when attaching a trailer.... vs Fortuner / Pajero sport.. this is for me the pick of the bunch despite its quirks..

Great video. I think the word you were looking for when describing the design was classy. I sat in the 3rd row and was amazed at the amount of space. Better than pajero sport. The dashboard is perfect, no ugly grey plastic. Everything is dark and consistent. Even the touch screen is dark, nobody wants a overly bright screen that can become a distraction.

Nice video. I can tell you my wait time for LST was 2 months. I went to another dealer and they told me the same. Was hoping for Xmas but got it before new year 🎊. So far, very happy. I do like that it's not over teched out. Agree with infotainment, could have been a bit better. 🙂

Looking to buy this in the near future as this is the only SUV in it's class that comes close to the third row seating space that we currently have on our almost 20 year old Isuzu Alterra (also known as MU-7 in other countries). Just waiting for rear diff lock functionality to be available in the Philippine market - it's weird that they took it out from all the variants here.

Can agree with this, we’ve been going from dealership to dealership testing everything lately to cover all bases before we purchase and can confirm the MUX is by far and away the best third row without a doubt.

23 years in Thailand ,only had Isuzu ,never ,NEVER had a problem , a breakdown ,anything ! .I've got no connection with this company but after hassle free driving guess what my next buy will be "boring" you say ,well .if you say so but I'll take reaching my destination without issues more important OK ,two gripes ,the front window auto button can get stuck ,affecting the battery and it is possible to lock yourself out when leaving the key in the ignition But I'm over 70 now and driving in the back waters of Thailand I'll take reliability every time they should use this as an ad

I like that I can hear the engine a little bit, it's a good first indicator if something goes wrong. BTW I think this is so quiet on the road at 110. I think you are a bit precious about the noise in the cab. Try getting in any 10 year old diesel and see how noisy they were. Who sits with the door open and revs the engine? It's a diesel!

Just comparing to other modern 4x4 diesel SUVs mate. It’s my job. No point in comparing to a 10 year old car. A 10yo car isn’t $50-60k.

I owned my 2023 isuzu mux lst for over a year now. Overall a very good car, just a bit average on fuel considering not much power output, and the gear changing going up hills is a bit poor but a diesel tune fixes the minor problem

Issues you missed are the bump steer problem that scrubs front tyres, soft paint - never had a car scratch so easily, autonomous driving support is very poor - I use it but it doesn’t keep you in the lane and turns off regularly. No auto lock on the doors when you start driving and most owners will tell you they turn off the parking assist which goes of constantly in traffic. Other than that - is a reasonable 4wd for the money.

Dashboard could say absolutely whatever it wants for fuel usage. Only way to get true real world is to see what the bowser pumps and calculate against distance travelled. Interesting to do this over say 1000km each between isuzu and bmw and see what each produces

As per my knowledge I don't think putting it in 4H locks front and rear axles, otherwise Isuzu wouldn't offer that rear locker button. And driving on 2WD is more efficient than AWD/4WD as there's lesser loss of power as the power only goes to one axle and it is more fuel efficient. Fortuner also has same system.
@drivingenthusiastaustralia
@drivingenthusiastaustralia 8 ай бұрын
Locking both the front and rear together I mean, not separately. As in the front axle receives the same amount of engine torque as the rear axle. When in 4H or 4L. It still can have independent wheelspin though, which is where the rear locker helps. And yes that is the way most heavy duty SUVs work. Except the Pajero Sport and Prado - both feature a centre differential.
@tano1747
@tano1747 6 ай бұрын
To clarify, the mu-x has no centre differential, whereas pajero sport does have a centre diff. A centre diff is essential if you want to drive all 4 wheels on hard surfaces, otherwise differences in wheel speed when cornering will twist up the drive-line until something breaks.

I was very much leaning to this Isuzu to replace our Pajero Sport QE, seemingly being a value for money proposition. Not so much anymore after this vid hahaha. Ok, the deal breaker: not having the AWD mode bad a "hard" 44 High setting only. Seriously how does that go in wet weather?? My relatively low power Mitsu break out at the back on wet roads going through corner. Everyday AWD is just a must in a vehicle this big. So it sounds like my option is back to Pajero Sport or, buy an Everest. So realistically, the only choice now is 2.0 turbo or V6, if you get my drift.....

Don't forget the seats, no front passenger electric adjustments and heating has only two settings not three, side mirrors do not have an auto close switch. I am basing this observation on a Hyundai Sante Fe, sadly written of by another drivers "medical episode"... got my D Max in 3 months!

I have a 2023 MUX LS-T. Recently I had a passenger in my LH passenger seat who is 6"2". As his head was up near the roof, we tried to adjust the height of the seat for his size. Had no luck. When I had my service I asked the service people find out how to adjust. Unbelievably, they said there is no fix. So of course I asked; so does that mean anyone at 6'2" or above cannot travel comfortably in my car? This is rediculous.

Do you know what is the difference between 2H, 4H and 4L in the 4WD selector? That selector is identical to the Fortuner selector and the Montero/Pajero Sport, because all those SUVs in that segment have similar 4WD system, non of them are AWD. The 2H is for regular road driving, the 4H is for High Speed driving on slippery surfaces, like in rain or snow, and the 4L is for low gear ratio, for lot of torque and traction when dealing with Mud or Rocks. It is Basic 4WD operation.... I dont see that as something negative on that car.
@drivingenthusiastaustralia
@drivingenthusiastaustralia 7 ай бұрын
Of course. But with vehicles such as the Pajero Sport and Ford Everest V6, these have a centre differential or mechanism that allows driving on hard surfaces with 4WD engaged. This Isuzu does not provide that.

I am from Belgium . Ibjust buy one a new 2024 model 3l diesel automatic not the 4x4 . The Isuzu choose match my requirements a big family car 7 seats and high on wheels with a navigation System . I Will drive it only in the Philippines . Delivery time was only one week but only avaible in black wit silver color❗ A big tractor engin 🚜. A sage choose when you know the the routes status in the Philippines. Not very good state 😉
