This was very helpful. I just got my pixel 3 xl and I have had Samsung and Blackberry forever. My only suggestion to you is you might want to SLOW down a bit when showing people how to do things. Yes it's a video, but I had to pause and rewind about 5 times just to catch what you said. Just a suggestion.

@@MegaGullystar Yeah, everyone has their own opinions, so do KZbinrs. I don't think it's fair to blame them for saying the notch is ugly if they really think so. And, for someone (like me), the ugly notch is a deal breaker, regardless how good the actual hardware or software is. I bought a Pixel 3 instead, because I just can't stand this ugly notch. It's too tall and took too much real estate, the area to the left and right of the notch are just useless except for displaying status, and status bar doesn't need to be that big, they are big because this notch is too tall.

Hey, thanks for the "Nacho Notch" app. I had no idea that even existed, and it works GREAT on my Pixel 3 XL. Also, FYI, if you go to Settings - Apps & Notifications (click on See All apps) - Scoll down and tap on Nacho Notch - click Notifications and turn off - the Nacho Notch icon disappears from the Notification tray. Now it's PERFECT!

Just a heads up. once you have nacho notch running and setup the way you want you can long press the persistent notification and then just toggle it off. Clean status bar with everything at the top. Just like Google should have done. 🙄

Great video... 1 issue the reason oh hey google works is because you can either use "ok google" or " hey google" so taking out the k your adding an extra step for yourself by say "oh hey"... This gave me a chuckle though. I never say ok google always using that hey option

For nacho notch on Android 10, you can disable notifications from nacho notch and you'll get the benefits of the app but no stubborn notification icon

FYI, you can remove the permanent nacho notch icon by pulling down to display the permanent notification, and then holding down on it to open settings. Select minimise, and the icon will disappear. The notification is still there if you pull down, but the icon is not displayed.

I like your tips!! Especially the developer options! I've been trying to figure out for awhile how to customize the animation speed! Man, you good! Also, I just want to add this in case anyone don't know this yet; you can zoom in and out of a video using a regular zoom in and out gesture with your fingers to maximize the whole space of your phone screen when watching something on KZbin! Only works when you are in full screen mode tho. :) (Hope I explained that okay lol)

The only thing I like about the notch on modern phones is the ability to hide it and still have your status bar in the hidden area. I find this to be very next level and an amazing feature. I'm skipping the P3XL even though I bought both gens prior to it and still rock the 2XL. I just don't like the overall hardware design and can't justify upgrading even though both my lines on Verizon are upgradable. I love raw Android and fast updates but for the first time I'm waiting to see what the S10 brings. I'm very excited for devices coming out next year. I consider 2018 to be a bad year for smartphones but I think 2019 will be amazing.

With the notifications staying at the top, you can long press a notification and "minimise" it. It stays there, but you won't see the icon in the status bar.

2 quick questions possibly worth asking. I see many threads asking if Pixel will come out with "adaptive sound" like samsung has. Another, is there anyway to move the back button to the right side? It can be tough to hit the button when one-handing the xl :)
