New sub here. I like your content! I had a quick theory (there's allot to it, but I'll give the TLDR). Since Breath of the Wild seemed to take inspiration from the first Zelda game, what if Tears of the Kingdom is trying to emulate Link to the Past?
@FreeTaurus12 жыл бұрын
Do you think Tears of the Kingdom is going to make a lot of references to the Era of Chaos timeline?
@Newlife28112 жыл бұрын
In the quick clip of Link reversing time on a rock to go back up into the sky we see a lot. A huge storm barrier covering some type of land.. but what, and hear me out, what could that bat looking dragon thing be flying far away behind link?! Look at the size of link... he's tiny on that rock, than compare that to the dragon bat thing... which is MUCH farther away than link. Its soo much bigger than Link. What could this thing be? Is there just one or multiple?

In the official artwork for Tears of the Kingdom, if you look to the upper left of the castle, it looks like there's a storm on the surface. It looks to be in the Hebra region, either Hebra Peek or Rito Village. What do you think this means for the game?

When the removed description said beyond Hyrule and the skies, I interpret that as and expansion to the overworld, not necessarily a new dimension (although that could also be the case). This could be referring to exploring further into the oceans, Gerudo desert, the underground, and more.

Good point... there is a scene in one of the trailers where Link is falling from WAAAY above the sky islands... I've always been wondering: Where is he falling from? Perhaps there is another layer well above the sky islands that can be seen!
@verticalgunblade2 жыл бұрын
My theory is this: since we see small floating islands here, I don't think they are just there to serve as footholds. I think there are small villages present in the middle of each floating islands and there is now a way for Link to shrink to enter these small villages.

Hm, the alternate world theory could be true but I don't think Nintendo "slipped up" by including that wording in their original game description. They were repeating what Eiji Aonuma had said, verbatim, in the E3 Direct last year. Sure, it COULD be a sign that they don't want to spoil an alternate world in the game but it could also be them trying to manage expectations after people started reading into that statement. I think "beyond" could simply mean underground or underwater areas, it doesn't necessarily mean alternate worlds.
@a.jthomas61322 жыл бұрын
What I am hoping to see in Tears of the Kingdom is the return of the Successors of Hyrule’s Champions(Sidon, Yunobo, Teba and Riju). Instead being sidelined, they should be fighting along side Link as each have build confidence & strength to defend Hyrule from the very threat each shared. Maybe on a side quest perhaps since Death Mountain is infested with Ganondorf’s malice. Also, the sequel of Breath of the Wild needs to confirm whether if they remember their victories from the Age of Calamity timeline since each are pulled to this reality to save this version of the Champions, Link and Zelda. Just like Ocarina of Time, changing the past can create two or three diverted timelines. It is complicated but time travel has always been a part of the Legend of Zelda lore.
@Caeljharden2 жыл бұрын
I think it would be really cool if we learn the Zonai split in half and had some kind of civil war. Half the Zonai went underground and the other half took to the skies. The carvings on the cave walls we saw in the trailer seemed to depict Ganondorf as a leader, so perhaps it was Ganondorf that caused the split and he and the Zonai that agree with him went underground while the other good half went to the sky. And whoever this God-like being in the new trailer is the leader of the good Zonai. It would also explain why the dragons in the ouroboros are eating each other. As if fighting. Perhaps while exploring the caves, Link and Zelda accidentally woke up Ganondorf and set him free.. so now the sky deity gave Link whatever the green binding magic was so that Link can save Zelda, defeat Ganondorf again, and use the magic hand thingy to lock him back up. Or maybe not who knows 🤷🏼♂️😂

While I do find it weird that the websites have changed the text to remove the expanded world, it's important to know that Aonuma has already said that the world is expanded beyond just the sky islands in the delay announcement. I'm confused as to why they'd change the text when the info was already out, but that doesn't mean that it's gotta be a new world or realm. It could be caves or underwater exploration or travelling to an ancient Hyrule as well, considering the sky islands are also seen as part of the expanded world.
@Anonymimus2 жыл бұрын
That first one is not new at all. When they announced the delay to 2023 Aonuma literally said: "As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game, but also the skies above. *However the expanded world goes beyond that*" Also, has anyone made the obvious connection yet? The Sheikah symbol is literally an eye dropping a tear. So, could those tears of the kingdom be related to the Sheikah? Maybe that was even the why they held back on revealing that name. You know, BotW focused heavily on the Sheikah, so it would be reasonable the sequel would, too.

I know that the Zelda team developers are making TOTK darker than Majora's Mask. But I do not want Princess Zelda to die to break the endless cycle of death and rebirth Demise has placed upon Hyrule. Not because it will devastate Link and the very promise he had made to Urbosa. But she has been through a lot since before and during her time suppressing Calamity Ganon for the last 100 years. She deserves better and live her life for a Scholar dream. Personally I would throw myself off the bridge if this shit happens!

I feel like there is another reason as to why the Eighth Heroine Statue is separated from the rest of the Heroine Statues. I think the Eighth Heroine is hiding something, acting as an entrance to some kind of ancient/forgotten temple. Since it is in the Gerudo Region, there is a possibility that the Spirit Temple from Ocarina of Time is behind the Eighth Heroine Statue. Just an idea I have been thinking about, & why the Eighth Heroine Statue could have a more significant role in Tears of the Kingdom.

Connections to the Twili is an interesting theory. I think there may be some connection to the Minish. The mystery figure in the latest trailer does somewhat resemble them, and they did come from the sky. They also have their own world.

I don't know if we'll be visiting another world just because of the wording Nintendo originally used in one of their directs where they said, (paraphrasing) "The new Zelda game will not only take Link back to Hyrule but into the skies above. However, the world expands even further than that." I think we may actually get to visit another country with its own set of content similar to Pokémon Gold/Silver where we had 2 regions to explore.

it occurs to me that maybe there are 3 different timelines 1.- When Zelda and Link failed and link went to the life chamber. (Breath of the Wild) 2.- When Zelda and Link succeded, and change the course of time with terraco, saving Mipha, Urbosa, Daruk and Revali (Age of Calamity) 3.- Zelda and Link decided to use Terrako to travel in time to ancient times (maybe Skyward Sword timeline or even past that) to the Legend origins (Original Hylia and original Hero), to prevent Demise to wake up and that way stoping the infinite loop, Uroboros (Tears of the Kingdom).

I have a feeling that the first point here, about "an expanded world that goes beyond", was just a misformulation, as in: there is no expanded world beyond, and they were quick to remove this sentence to remove false hopes.

Before the last trailer drop, Nintendo said they were apprehensive about telling us the name of the game, because it would be a spoiler. I thought it was because it sounded like "Tiers of the Kingdom", but if it translates so differently in other languages, that's probably not the case.

if these tori gate like structures are actually a form of shrine or passage to another realm, i really hope it's seamless; walking right through the gate will immediately pass you to the other side. Not only because it would be cool, but because it would remove the only major loading screen in botw to my knowledge (shrines), assuming these are one of the replacements for shrines. It seems like some tricks are already being used to minimize loading screens entirely. The big door could totally house a dungeon or something on the other side, and opening it really slowly like that could just be a secret loading screen. Same with skydiving; when link skydives in the sept2022 trailer, the clouds part to reveal the land in a way that almost looks like a transition, which is likely another secret way of loading in content.

The title 'Tears of the Kingdom' is very relavent when we look at the ending cutscene of Twilight Princess with Link, Zelda and Midna. It was one of Midna's tears that cracked and shattered the Mirror of Twilight, putting an end to the portal that connected their two realms. But Midna's final words to Link were "Link... I... See you later," hinting that somehow they'd meet again even after she broke the mirror. I believe the second person shown joining hands with Zelda in the mural, during the TotK trailer is the Princess of Twilight. It might be Midna herself (if time passes much slower in the Twilight Realm) or... it could be one of her descendants. The Zonai maybe descended from the Twili if the Twili once again found a way to bridge the two realms of light and shadow, years ago prior to BotW.

What if some, not all, of the floating islands are actually where the Sheikah towers were in Breath? When you see Link first get on the Eagle glider, there's a hole in the ground with a floating island above and to the right of it. It would make sense that, as important landmarks, the Towers not being present in one way could give form to another. Just a thought that seemed to make some sense

I believe that that the destroyed part of the master sword is replaced by the blade made from green energy. That would also make sense if weapons break after time like in Breath of the Wild. I think and breath of the wild it was a problem in that the master sword is a unique weapon that you can't just get another one if it breaks. In this game the green energy probably gets used up and the master sword is just broken again until you and recharge it with this green energy. In my opinion this would make way more sense than the use of the master sword in breath of the wild.

I almost hate to say it, but about number 1... BotW concept art is the place to look. BotW concept art of Link on a motorcycle led to the Master Cycle in the DLC. BotW concept art of Link with a magic arm led to what was going to be BotW DLC, but is now a whole new game, TotK! BotW concept art of the Minish very strongly points to them returning in TotK, especially with so much of the sky stuff looking like the sky stuff in TMC. BotW concept art of Link looking up at a UFO... combined with the deleted description of "the world beyond the sky"... ...points to space! Just like in Kid Icarus: Uprising, which includes Space Pirates. Remember Romani's cows?

The Zoni and the Twili could be the same people, but I don't think we're going to see Midna again. The game might have a similar companion character or Twili people, but it has been centuries in game since the time of Twilight Princes and those same characters won't be alive anymore...There could be some time travel shenanigans, but when has any Zelda game ever used the exact same characters as a previous game in the series? Never! Even Majora's Mask, which was a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, took place in a completely different world with different people. On another note: Sky people have been mentioned in many Zelda games over the years. They aren't in every game, but are in quite a lot of them. My theory is this: After the events of Skyward sword some people decided they wanted to stay in the sky while others went down to the surface. At first these people would have stayed in contact and bartered and traded with each other. After all they are the same people. Over many many thousands of years the people on the ground and the people in the sky drifted apart. Perhaps it was the extinction of Loftwings making travel between the sky and surface more difficult. Perhaps there was some kind of disagreement that caused a war between the surface and the sky. Whatever the reason was, the surface people and sky people lost contact with each other and the surface people all but forgot about the sky people. There may be ruins, ancient texts, and legends about the sky people, but they have mostly fallen into obscurity and mystery. Over this vast expanse of time the people have evolved differently. The people on the surface still have a humanoid appearance, but the sky people could look very different. Look at the Ooca from Twilight Princess.

The funny part of the name in Japanese is that it is not written in Japanese itself (as in using something like the word "namida" for tears) but in English. The point is that in Japanese, they write words (and names) from other places using katakana which is written through phonemes, instead of letters. So it is like they wrote "tee-ahrs of the king-dom" (and if it was the other "tears" it would be something more akin to "tehrs" instead).
@rafaelmoura21032 жыл бұрын
they rarely translate zelda titles anymore to japanese, probably to avoid confusion...i dont know when was the last time they did, maybe wind waker (a link between worlds being a rare exception, for being a direct sequel of an older game)

Is it possible that the black mark on the shield is some polygon popping through from the black cape that he has underneath it? It appears to be the same color and shape as the black thing underneath the shield which also goes over the top a little bit on your still shot. The more I look at it, especially on .25 playback speed, there is a moment when Link jumps and the black mark disappears.... I'm about 99% sure it is a polygon popping through from his cape underneath. (edit - I posted that before realizing he literally said the same thing right after I posted!)

@@GameOverJesse I think the fast equipment breaking with no ability to fix them was the worst mechanic of the game. I liked getting all the special weapons and stuff, but I never wanted to use them because once they break they are gone! BOTW was an excellent game... it excelled in so many ways... but to be honest, the story wasn't strong enough (especially compared to one like Skyward Sword!), there were no dungeons, and the weapons breaking... these were the greatest weaknesses. It already looks like Tears of the Kingdom will have a stronger story and will likely have dungeons... Let's hope that they make some adjustments to the weapons breaking so easily... Only reason that all of the school stuff looks the same as because it's the same set of artists. You are seeing their style, so a lot of it looks the same. That is the thing about artists. Once you start seeing a lot of the work, you see where they are limited to what they can do and what they know. I think a lot of these artists need to be fired now. Time to get new people in.

It actually is not the same artists. They had over 100 different people working on botw that was not there for TP. These are professional artists, not 7 year olds. If something was to similar, that is why you have management to say try again and why the deku designs are completely different from the Zora. The concept designs for BotW also shows different designs. So they knew it would have been simar and consciously chose this one for a reason. Do you think they just accept the first draft of designs from a single person and not have dozens of people are all coming up with tons of their own designs? TP only had around 30 - 40 developers. Not all were artists. Half of them are now gone or worjing on other game series. Now Nintendo's Zelda team has 3 or 4x that many people, plus a huge part of them came from Capcom and Sega after TP released. And dozens of others came from Monolithsoft, also after TP released.
