Threaded Corkboard and Linguistic Focus. I would use Linguistic Focus to isolate each character's speech and do a read-through from beginning to end to evaluate consistency in his/her voice.

The Linguistin one is awesome! And: I did not know that Scrivner can read stories out loud. I love it! Thank you! My favorite feature is the full picture mode where I only see the the blank page and nothing that could distract me.

I like the one when the robot lady reads to you. What may sound like a good idea in my head may seem totally different when read aloud. Scrivener 3 sounds awesome!

Interesting video, but I found I didn't get enough info (from you) on some of the features. e.g. I liked Threaded Corkboard, but will now have to search another video showing how to get it. (You didn't mention that part about it.) Best thing is, the video is short and mostly to the point.

How does one activate the speech mode. I think that was not explained. Unless it's just a simple right-click/secondary-click.
@AuthorLevelUp6 жыл бұрын
Select the text, highlight, and right click. Should be in the right click menu. It’s also under the edit tab I believe. But the text has the be highlighted first.

Hi Machel! Spending a few hours today catching up on some of the videos I've missed over the past few months. All of the best features you mention here are not available for windows, sadly! I can't wait til Scrivener 3 comes for windows. That threaded cork and revision modes looks amazing!

After watching for the third time, I tried the #1 REVISION MODE. I'm sure somewhere in the huge Scrivener manual there is HOW-TO. But I experimented with a single scene document using the SNAPSHOT tool. Do a two, then a three, then four. Each time using the different revision color.

Is Scrivener 1 the only version available for windows? I just bought it, thinking it was version 3, but it says version 1. So is 2 and 3 only for mac at the moment? I'm a little confused.

Correct, unfortunately. The windows version had a lot of catching up to do.

Great video! I've been using Scrivener for years. Do you know anything about Wavemaker? In one of your videos I saw that you have refused to buy an Android phone because Scrivener was not available on that platform. I have been playing around with Wavemaker, which purports to be cross-platform, and it appears to work well in Chrome and my Android devices, including Chrome Pixelbook and various telephones. I would love to get your take on it.

Okay - you got a 50% hit ratio with me on this one. I genuinely did not know about 5 of your 10. Granted, there was the MAC only one that I don't know about because I am a Windows user, but 5 out of 10 still ain't bad. I am looking forward to using the Linguistic Focus feature. That is probably my favorite that I learned about in this video!

Cool video. Probably very useful for Mac users. But... Scrivener hates windows users, doesn't it? It's like being in relationship, finding out they're cheating on you. And not only are they cheating on you, you find out they also do lots of cool things they never did with you...
@AuthorLevelUp5 жыл бұрын
Can’t confirm or deny that. But you made me laugh pretty hard LOL

Haha! You should try Linux. It's wonderful, but some developers like the Latte guys who wrote Scrivener, threw up their hands & said "You're on yer own, guys." They did leave us the Beta version of it for Linux... for free. Luckily Linux world is filled with nerds, so one of 'em set up Scrivener for Linux as a drag & drop install, no password, no registration, no need for Libraries, which get outmoded, as happened with the original Latte version of Scrivener for Linux. I doubt there'll be any updates, but after three months of solid use, it's bulletproof, unlike the Windows version using Wine or Mono Windows interpreters on Linux.

I found the name generator by accident the other day. I was wondering what's this? It can't be what I think it is. Sure enough it was. Awesome!! I am new to scrivener and I love it!! I never knew about the cork board timeline deal. That will definitely help me out. I do have a few questions. 1. When I use the grammar checkbox when I check the spelling it doesn't really seem to work for me. I checked preferences and still nothing. Also the spelling I have it to where it auto corrects your spelling. That isn't working neither, and that is checked to do so. 2. This one is a silly question. For some reason this one annoys me. I don't know why. On the binder at the top I see a lot of people's screens show "Binder" in the title bar and then under that what's in it. I don't know why, but mine will not show up in the toolbar. Like I said this is annoying me for some reason. I don't know why! Unless scrivener 3 does not include this? Maybe I just need therapy LOL!!
@AuthorLevelUp6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your questions. 1. Scrivener's grammar checker so-so. I wouldn't rely on it. If you have Word, I'd import your book into Word for a better spell-checking experience. Or even better, use ProWritingAid or Grammarly. I just did a video on ProWritingAid and have one on Grammarly launching today at noon CST. 2. Hmm...no answer on that one. Pretty sure you don't need therapy! Maybe check the Literature and Latte forums. Could be a minor setting that you need to check/uncheck.

I swear, I need no further proof to show why Scriviner is doing God's work and you'd be crazy using everything else. Scriviner to digital writing is the pen to traditional writing. Why use a pencil? Why make it that much harder for yourself? (But Word is good for buisiness and Libre for starting drafts however)
