I’ve been a school teacher for 25 years. Guess what we get for taking care of children and shaping their minds. It is true when we say ( we try to change the world one child at a time ). The real rewards are in our efforts and seeing the fruits of our labor, not in our paychecks. We are underpaid in so many ways.

I think teachers (I’m not one) are definitely underpaid ~ I think it’s Sweden that values the teaching profession and it is a highly paid job. Children are our future. I also think that the woke bs needs to be removed and children should be learning: •to read and write (including music), •math ~ long and short methods •public speaking •history •geography •financial planning (saving and investing) ~ although this may rapidly change with the introduction of CBDCs ~ God help us ~ •base religion •physical education ~ team and individual sport ~ including fitness and health •art, crafts and basic knowledge of woodwork and trade type skills •dress and deportment •manners (this should be a reinforcement of what parents are hopefully teaching. It appears that the woke culture has taken over our schools ~ 🤔 how do we want our future to look? Teachers ~ baseline are very important and should be at a high standard themselves and paid accordingly ~ it’s a profession ~ not just a job.

@@bodhi9464 Teaching in both the public and private sectors, I have seen one particular subject being taught in Japan that is not taught in most countries. The subject is ( Morals ). It simply teaches kids how to be a good productive member of society. How to have real human compassion.
@christophdenner8878 Жыл бұрын
It really depends also on the country. In the country where I live currently, teachers are very well and highly paid. On the other hand, when I think back to my school days, we had a couple of teachers that were just doing a really bad job: not caring about our learning progress, not caring about whether children came from "difficult family situations" (like me) and thus had special needs, instead a lot of brutality (kids being slapped, torn by their hair, binding to the chair with a rope, etc..), verbal abuse, humiliation. Talking about the school situation in the 80ies in a European country. These teachers definitely did not deserve good payment and I wonder if they were underpaid (which could explain their behaviour at least to some extent, but that's no excuse at all).

I totally agree with you. I got bullied out by incompetent management. I work privately now and see it as a calling. Tax office doesn't understand genuine expenses neither does Centrelink. Very disheartening. I think we need to get into politics to get a good pension.

This topic is quite tricky as it's very dynamic and hugely varies on supply and demand. Within Australia, each city/state have their own "key industries" and the pay disparity differs greatly on some in-demand jobs. But good content though!

As an Australian lawyer I must warn everyone about the legal profession. Although experienced lawyers can earn big money, there are a lot of law graduates and fully admitted lawyers that are on crappy pay. Law firms simply do not want to hire lawyers anymore, instead a lot of work is done by law clerks or paralegals for a fraction of the pay. In many instances these "paralegals" are actually fully qualified lawyers that have completed their practical legal training, however out of desperation they take a paralegal job paying $60k in the hope that they can get their foot in the door at a law firm. I think we need to make it very clear, unless you know people inside the industry law is a horrible career path. 80 per cent of law graduates have no hope in hell of being employed as a lawyer. Lawyer positions are like gold dust.

The highest paying job is the governor general. It is the English queen representative who oversees and controls the Australian colonial regime. You get $500,000 a year, live in a splendid manor with huge gardens worth $200 million, with 80 employees and servants. On top of that you get a travel allowance, just for airfares - 1 million dollars a year.

she is missing out the entrepreneurs and some self employed contractors/ building contractors. Interstate BIG truck drivers do earn big money. She missed out super successful sellers of property - top end houses, commercial developments. She missed out giving good details re highly qualified registered nurses and senior teachers and head teachers at private schools For instance: How much does a Senior educator make in Australia? The average senior educator salary in Australia is $112,618 per year or $57.75 per hour. Entry-level positions start at $71,478 per year, while most experienced workers make up to $128,400 per year. For instance a Fly in / fly out truck driver in a Western Australia mining operation: “Annually, at my $51.50 rate, that would be about $112,000 per annum my bonuses which could be around $10,000. So around $122,000 for my first year. “I hope this helps. I think it is pretty good for working only six months of the year as a truckie. Now a senior Registered Nurse in Australia The national average salary for a Senior registered nurse is $89,500 in Australia.16 May 2024

In Australia we have this deficiency in the workplace where people get promoted not on their work ethic but moreover how they talk to their peers. If you have the gift of the gab (there is another word for it which is not savory) you will do alot better than the worker who is proficient at his job and has a reliable can do attitude. It seems to be prevalent in this country for some reason.

Salaries for engineering are a joke. It seems that working as an software engineer you get tops 150k to 170k. No wonder there are almost none great IT companies in AUS.
@davidlp3019 Жыл бұрын
I'm a software engineer 1st year out of uni working in wollongong on 80k. 150k is an amazing salary and there is plenty of growth for decent programmers in Australia. Whist 150 isn't the crazy high salaries of the USA, it's still alot better than the median salary in Australia of 65k.
@rafae5902 Жыл бұрын
@@davidlp3019 I'm not comparing with the USA, but with other professions in Australia. Do you know how much a doctor make in Australia? How about a surgeon? Doctors make 250+ and surgeons 500+. I'm not saying that we should earn more or even the same as they do in Australia, but I would expect the difference to be smaller. In the UK, for example, the pay gap between these 2 fields is smaller, as it should be. To me, that just shows how Australia doesn't really value our field. Not saying you can't get a decent life in Australia with this salary, but you are surely not being correctly valued.
@davidlp3019 Жыл бұрын
@rafae5902 yes specialist doctors make that kind of money cause they study for years to get the experience. IT is only a 3 or 4 year degree. An oncologist takes 15 years...
@rafae5902 Жыл бұрын
@@davidlp3019 You say that because you are new to this field. Software engineering is one of the most demanding professions, because we NEVER stop having to learn new things... that's, if you want to get to the higher salaries. So yeah, they do study a lot, but that doesn't justify the enormous difference in salaries. What does justify is how poor Australia is in IT. IT in Australia just doesn't generate that much money when compared to the USA or even Europe.
