I absolutely understand your struggle with the cabinets. We painted half of one wall in the study dark green. The color selection took forever. And it always looked great in my imaginations and Pinterest ideas. But when the wall was painted, I didn't feel comfortable at all and i was so depressed. Well, and now the wall is white and we will design the room like the rest of the apartment in warm beige and brown tones. I think sometimes it's absolutely ok not to dare anything and to stay with what you have always felt comfortable😊

I've never related so much to a content creator like this before haha. I have adhd and i'm so indecisive and constantly changing the layout of our house, which includes doing a lot of diy projects. Hearing “It doesn’t have to be perfect now, I can always change it" is so comforting especially when I think about all the times I did a project just to re-do it later on since I changed my mind about it.
@hazeleligado23212 жыл бұрын
13:10 oh dang, as a fellow creative, I felt that SO bad 🥲 Scrapping a project is never fun, but it's really inspiring to see you move onward and the great result afterwards :) ♥ I've been following your channel for a while, and I think this is my favourite home project of yours by far~ its always so nice to see the space in which one creates, and this is giving me all sorts of inspiration (the curtain shower? genius!) Thanks as always for sharing your projects and process with us, roller coasters and all~ :))) btw I hope you take this as a compliment but I'm seriously envious of your wall-drilling skills in particular~ I've put up many a shelf, but none ever look as clean as yours 🥲👍
@cloudyhills2 жыл бұрын
Aw thank you so much! I didn't have high expectations for this room but ended up loving it too. As for the wall drilling, you just need more practice! 😄 I couldn't do it properly for the first few months either~

I love KZbinrs who keep it real. ❤ We don't always end up loving our first choice of colour or layout or whatever it is we're working on. And whilst it feels disappointing to have spent time/money/effort on something we don't end up liking, it's totally fine to go back to the drawing board and do what you know you like 😊

I was just watching your video and noticed the book from London about poetry was kinda a emerald green color I'm mentioning this because from about 1814 to the 1900 emerald green was a very popular color but people stopped using it because they discovered it was toxic and could get people really sick it was found in a lot of old books too. I just wanted to let you know so that your safe😁 I would get it checked out to be sure. Love your videos they bring me so much comfort❤

I’m new to the DIY game, but maybe try using a wood conditioner on the raw pine shelves and THEN you can stain them. Wood conditioner should help reduce blotching (which makes the wood grain look “busy,” as you stated). If you try it out, please let me know how it turns out! Good luck!

It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better kzbin.infoUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.
