@amphitritemists45954 жыл бұрын
Anne Boleyn came first and her execution made it "acceptable" for Henry to execute Katherine Howard later on. Also, Boleyn was the reason the Church of England became a thing in the first place and the fact that he had her killed after starting a whole new religion to marry her was ridiculous. She gave birth to one of England's greatest monarchs and all she gets in return is her head chopped off. So yeah her execution has more significance but Katherine Howard is definitely my favorite of his wives cause of everything she dealt with personally even before Henry and because of her youth.

+agharp20 Do you really expect a fair trial from the French Revolutionaries. It was at best kangaroo courts, and at worst mob rule. There was no justice, or defense of individual rights.
@marigeobrien7 жыл бұрын
Being from Austria had no bearing on her guilt or innocence. While Marie Antoinette was a sort of victim of the system, I suppose, the fact is, she was a stupid girl who saw no reason to use her position to help others but, instead, took advantage of it at the expense of the masses. In fact, both she and Louis were guilty of horrifically poor leadership.
@jos_meid7 жыл бұрын
Marige OBrien Even if the french system were bad, she had literally no power to change things. Were people suffering, like everywhere? Yes. Was that the exclusive fault of the french royalty/aristocracy? I would argue strongly no. Did that suffering stop after the revolution? Again, I would argue very strongly no. But the point is, even if it were exclusive fault of the french royalty/aristocracy, and even if it stopped after the revolution, she was convicted of an ex post facto crime, was given only the illusion of due process, and had no ability to prevent the alleged wrongdoing from happening in the first place. I stand by my earlier statement of it being a kangaroo court at best. I would also like to call into question your supposed 'fact' that "she was a stupid girl who saw no reason to use her position to help others but, instead, took advantage of it at the expense of the masses." In what way do you think was she a stupid girl? For being married to the king of a country that would later break out in revolution? In what way could she have used her position to help others? She was the wife of the king, but had otherwise no political power. In what way did she take advantage of it at the expense of the masses? By not changing a system that was literally centuries old, and one which she did not have the power to change anyway? I will agree with your final statement that "she and Louis were guilty of horrifically poor leadership." but I would say that being married to someone who is bad at their job is simply no reason to be put to death, or punished in any way for that matter.

The execution of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots should have made the top 10 for its HORRIBLE sloppiness! It took SEVERAL chops of the ax to kill her, and even more shocking, as the executioner grabbed the top of the severed head to raise it the public and said "God Save the Queen", the head fell down to the floor, and the shocked executioner was left holding a big bunch of hair!! Yes, Mary was wearing a wig. Her cousin, jailer, and longtime rival Elizabeth I was NOT pleased with how things went- despite everything, Mary WAS a queen.

In all honesty, she was a blip in historical figures. That said, I wouldn't have had Bundy or Wornos on this list either. Replace them with Mary Queen Of Scotland. And I'd say all the innocent victims the French had murdered, during their ridiculous "revolution"...

I think Mary Queen of Scots should have been here because of the hilarious things that happened. As always the exacutionor lifted her head up to show the crowd. He lifted her by the hair. Where it was revealed she wore a wig after her head fell. Also, Elizabeth said later that killing her cousin was her biggest regret. That bit is not funny, it’s just true.

What pedantic nonsense, are you sure that's accurate medieval French? Do you always call Christopher Columbus, by his Latin name' Christophorus Columbus, his Italian name Cristoforo Colombo; the name he adopted for his Spanish sponsors. Cristóbal Colón or his birth name Christoffa Corombo.

Yeah,it makes me think HER execution was the saddest.
@insanelilnugget73556 жыл бұрын
Honestly i think Jesus did get number one since he suffered, a lot think about it, they shoved thorns into his head and drew blood, thats gotta hurt, whipped countless times, people spat in his face, betrayed by pretty much everyone, laughed at when he was beaten, forced to drag a heavy cross up a hill, and had his hands and feet nailed. Guys do you have any idea how much that hurts? Thats gotta be pretty painful especially when he had to hang by his hands doubling the pain. It was a slow painful death. he had a pretty slow and painful execution.

that for of death was common place, what he went through was nothing special if indeed he did exist which is highly debatable.
@MizzFlippzy6 жыл бұрын
That's true, but still, the idea of death by exposure and starvation is not really a way I'd go out. To be fair though, I probably wouldn't have made crucifixion the number one death.

Why is everyone so shocked Jesus was number one? There is literally a holiday in honor of his death!
@garyconyers6 жыл бұрын
Errrm, because the lack of contemporaneous accounts of his life cast massive doubt that he even existed? Do the days and months we use that are named after Gods prove they existed?
@garyconyers6 жыл бұрын
No, there really isn't. There are photographs of Abraham Lincoln of goodness sake! In comparison there are no contemporaneous accounts of his life, i.e. written at the time of his life. The closest we have is someone born decades after he supposedly died writing about someone with his name. This is "remembered" by word of mouth - are stories passed down from over 40 years ago, with nothing written down really reliable? Who told you there is more documented evidence of Jesus's existence than there is of Abraham Lincoln's? You believed them?
@garyconyers6 жыл бұрын
I misunderstood what you were trying to say. My bad. Just because there are lots of words written about someone or something doesn't validate their existence. Lots of people have written a lot about Harry Potter, doesn't make him real.
@garyconyers6 жыл бұрын
Wayne Bell exactly : just because lots of words are written about someone doesn't mean they were real.
@zackwoodd46066 жыл бұрын
Are you idiots really debating if Jesus existed? ANY historian will tell you he lived and walked the Earth and was later crucified. Only dumbasses who believe only what they want will deny that. So you all should educate yourselves before acting like you know what you're talking about

Fawkes may have been the remembered man from the plot, despite the fact he had nothing to do with the organisation of the plot. He was essentially a pawn in the plan. As for "honest intentions" he tattled on his co conspirators incredibly quickly, meaning because he was incapable of completing the one task assigned to him, he coated not just himself but everyone else involved's life.

@LightningTTfan147 жыл бұрын
Jeanne never would have done so willingly. Even in prison she refused to wear certain clothes that would have made her look desirable, so I doubt she'd get married. I think I read somewhere she even fought off a guard who tried to assault her. Jeanne was a woman of pride, and she wouldn't have allowed anyone to marry her off to, if this had been the case, likely, an englishman.
