I posted a level inspired by Super Meat Boy for speedruners Now I'm working on a more classic new level in the same spirit as the ghost ship but with another type of SMB3 level I think to put it online this weekend but I spend time thinking about the level design to make the level fun to play, so I'm not sure yet

Honestly, I don’t think a 3D Mario maker would work. There’s a lot more that goes into creating a 3D level than a 2D level

Not necessarily. If Halo Forge is possible I don't see why a sandbox style Mario stage creator would be unrealistic.

bbenavidez925 don’t get me wrong, it’s certainly not a bad idea. Far from it, it’s a novel concept. But I think given how approachable Nintendo likes to make title like Mario Maker, making 3D levels, while great for those who’ve played more than their fair share, for a lot of people, building a 3D level may be more difficult. The idea of building levels with a Z-axis, the most basic of jumps across gaps, and even enemy placement is made more complex in 3D, rather than filling out a 2D obstacle course. I think we will see this idea in the future, but it just feels too out of reach for the time being.

Yeah it's crazy this game came out and already amazing levels. The other day I saw a guy called Mairusu try a level called Table tennis or at least it had something to do with it, The mechanic was genius. Basically it used a Koopa shell (that is, the black shell that's like metal) and two bill blasters and bounce pads above them as a ball and rackets respectively and you have to try and get the shell to hit the on/off block in order to get to the door. And it did kinda function as a point system as well! Amazing!

I try to stay faithful to the Mario games as well as take the advice given in Tamamura Dojo's to heart. Unfortunately, the four levels I made so far haven't been played a single time and might seem unremarkable, but I try to pretend that they're lost levels from other classic games. I have Kamek's Ghost House (SMW), Poisoned Plumbing (SMB3), Bowser Jr.'s Air Fortress (SMB3), and Freezerburn Highway (SMW).

I made an old level on the original game called Goomba Town. The level consisted of standing on a moving platform and taking a tour through the Goomba Town. I remember there was a dog park (a big box filled with chain chomps) and an ice skating rink (a bunch of goombas in shoes on ice) and some houses had doghouses (a tiny house with a chained up chain chomp) and I made a level that was basically just a copy of another level I saw. You had to break a block, free the goombas, and get home.
