That's why most of them have replaced engines or tuned engines to keep up with the high miles. My 1993 300zx NA is at 290k miles and the engine still, runs clean. No to mention it's been tuned with an enhanced ECU which brings in more power. ALSO most people get JDMs so they CAN tune them. Engine swaps, Turbo kits, enhancements and even pushing the car's limit. Forgot to mention I got my z32 well under 2kUSD

blyndrotor, bokie paythroughs- yes, thanks bokie. Of course all rotarys consume oil via omp but the 04's omp was set very low so I don't notice any difference in usage...it doesn't burn either as my apex seals are in good shape (for now) @ 60k kilometers on it. I premix about 200ml 2-stroke TC-3W oil at every fill-up so I don't worry about the omp. happy tuning.

Hamza M I'd say go for it man! I've owned my Rx8 for almost 3 years with 141k miles. I daily drive it every day and honestly I haven't regretted it. Granted it isn't the "greatest fuel efficient" car in the world. You're buying a sports car. I average around 18mpg. Just make sure you run good oil, like any conventional oil. If you run synthetic, only run Idemitsu Oil. That's the only company that's synthetic minerals are actually healthy for the engine, and won't hurt your Housing Walls.

Hamza M Other than that, pre mix every trip to the petrol station. So you keep the engine lubricated and other than that. It should run like no tomorrow. I'd also recommend getting the engine's compression tested. Since some owners who neglect their engines could affect the compression of the engine. If it's compression is low, it needs a rebuild. That's just my 2 cents. Mazda still sells remanufactured RX8 engines. Sooo hit that up if you have too. I wish you luck! Hopefully you find the rx8 of your dream🙌

1. S14/S13 One of the best drift cars of all time and looks great too 2. Miata NB Purest version of a sports car that can do anything especially with its reliability and cheap aftermarket support (only would get NA if I had a daily) 3. 350z Honestly I'm a little 350z fatigued, but I can't deny it's great capabilities and crazy aftermarket support 4. RX-8 R3 I genuinely think the RX-8 is a great car, but I am terrified of what might go wrong so if I was to get one I would want a car I can drive 3/4 of the time. 5. MR2 I don't know to much about the MR2, but what I do know is that it's a nice fun car I think is pretty damn unique. Would have to get the second gen tho. 6. Integra GSR Integras are the best and most front wheel drive cars you'll find out there. They have great handling, reliability and modding potential that hasn't been ruined by ricers. 7. EK9 Civic Type R Easily the best daily driver out of the bunch that also wins in reliability and definitely in cheap parts as well. Not to mention an EK9 Civic is an appreciating asset. 8. S2000 Don't get me wrong. I love the hell out of the S2k, but any S2k under $10,000 will have high mileage, salvage title or major problems. 9. WRX Impreza WRXs are great dailies, fast drag and track cars, but I lean more towards drifting, BUT YOU GOTTA RESPECT IT. 10. Beat I can appreciate the rarity and history behind this car, but only to an extent

86s came to america. They are just REALLY rare compared to the over abundance of the 85 or SR5 version. The SR5 is still an 86 but doesn't come with all the "good stuff" like better brakes, LSD rear end, DOHC engine and paint/interior/trim choices. It takes a trained eye to spot the differences because they are so similar if it doesn't have badges (trusting that the badges are correct) or you don't know VIN codes. If you want a mildly simple way to tell, 85s had a carb fuel system and the good 86 had a DOHC fuel injected engine.

To mod a car you'll want to plan for it. Research, budgeting, yadda yadda. Like The other said, it doesn't happen in a single day. But once you do finish your project car, you'll appreciate the effort and patience you've put into it. Best feeling.

Traded in my worst car ever, w202 c63AMG Mercedes for a 2004 Daytona Blue 350z. Put about $14,000 into it and hands down the best money ever spent. Turns heads like a Ferrari, sounds better, can actually be driven AND cheaper to build/repair. Stock exhaust sounded great but was first to go! Buy one if ya get the chance!
