Top 10 JRPG Super Bosses [The worst of them all!]

Sometimes, it just isn’t enough to beat a JRPG. If we level up more than we should, find the strongest weapons in the game, and locate everybodys lost cats, chances are the final boss will be a walk in the park. And for this reason, we have the Super Boss.
These crazy powerful bosses come in a range of different shapes and sizes, but they all have two things in common.
Firstly, they’re optional, and usually pop up towards the end of the game.
Secondly, they are much more powerful than the final boss of the main story.
This video is going to look at my top 10 JRPG superbosses of all time. To create my list, I’ve spent the last several years of my life developing a highly complex algorithm, using computational Masamune-physics and quantem-ragnaroki-dynamics, and this accounts for a range of different factors, including:
How damn hard these superbosses are.
How damn cool these superbosses are.

I needed to lookup what Galdera's weaknesses were in both forms to beat it in Octopath 2. Was otherwise an amazing game!

I have attempted and failed multiple times at beating emerald and ruby weapon in FF7. They give me PTSD lol 😅

While I feel that there is nothing wrong with a tough boss fight, Elizabeth was just flat out unfair in the original version of Persona 3. I got her invitation telling me to fight her alone one and one. Then as soon as it started she kept wiping me out in one shot again and again. So I was wondering what gives? Then finally I found out that if she didn't like what your personas were equipped with (I spent a lot of time getting the very best skills for my personas) then she would wipe you out immediately. Really Atlus? Is that a fair fight?? Tell me one thing and then leave out more information??? I said fuck this shit if you're going to be unfair... You're not a challenging boss fight you're just plain cheap. Anyway Persona 4 did a better job with their ultimate boss and I actually beat it after a few attempts

I love and hate super bosses at the same time. For one, they are very cool and often add something goofy or silly to the world but on the other hand, they are just unfair at times. My personal favourites are the following: FFX - Penance = the first super boss i knew was a super boss and i grinded stats for days and weeks to finally being able to defeat him Red - Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - the first super boss i ever fought as a kid but not knowing he was one. It was just so cool battling against yourself from the past. Legend of Dragoon - Faust - this guy was hard as balls and i really didnt know how to beat him until i used a guide for a strategy back then.

They can definitely drive you insane. Red was on my short list, too. Would have added penance but couldn't pass up on Emerald.

Some super bosses are only difficult when you don't know the strategy. But with the right strategy it's not that difficult.

I one tried the black rabbite with the monk thief and mage team. I dont think i ever lost the active character and even the bots didnt die more than 2 times each

I love jrpg superboss hype and not enough people talk about it outside of guys like darkkefka, and the list is fine though thinking back on my demifiend attempts back on the ps2 is almost ptsd. Though i do have some unmentioned favorites. Tales of Vesperia: 200 man melee is amazing, the fact you fight the most iconic bosses in the series and symphonias Kratos is super fun. Star Ocean 2: Infinite Gabriel, i love the fact that its a lore fight, in the standard mode he is holding back but if you know what you are doing you fight the true universe slayer in all his glory. If he wasn't holding back on a normal playthrough the party was doomed. Freya from 3 is also really cool. FF12 trial 100: not only are you fighting the judges from the main game but the strategy involves taking them out in the same order they died in the story, to figure that out you would need to be a ff12 expert without a guide. Arc Rise Fantasia: if you can play the undub, its a treat that they took the 2d sprites of the witches from the luminuous arc series, made them 3d models and then made them the ultimate fight on the game. too bad the dub is trash. Also Valkyrie Profiles most iconic super boss is the hamsters because they are way WAY scarier than Iseria Queen. For the Xenoblade best superboss shoutout its either Imperial IX division for hardest challenge, Cloud sea ken revenge for hardest single enemy in the series, or Pro gauntlet Hard DJ for highest HP and probably being an Alpha Weltall reference.

@@a.lateralus5840 This is ridiculous, you're just adding arbitrary rules of your own lmao. A superboss is an optional boss that's stronger than basically any other enemy in the game, no one said they _have to_ be difficult in order to qualify.
