The ones I believe are very good in bringing in new fans and such are, Ex-Aid, Geats, Build, Zero-One, Den-O and Wizard. So far, Ex-Aid has been always my go to as its easy to grasp and not worry too much about anything, and so far it has worked well.

I watched Decade first and I almost gave up on Kamen Rider because of it but I watched Den-O to give the show another chance and Den-o made me fall in love with Kamen Rider

Kuuga was my first series and how I got into it was interesting, so I was hearing about Kamen Rider from a few videos and songs that caught my eye (Excite and Journey through the Decade) and had no clue where to start so I started my research into the eras (Not that I knew that there was eras at the time) Heisei stood out to me because I was familiar with Heisei Godzilla so I went "Ok what's the first Heisei Kamen Rider?" and the rest is history

as a fan who just passes by Kamen Rider occasionally, i say start with whatever season you're most interested with or which ones have the actors you're familiar with. also what your friend suggests. those helped me get started with Den-O, Kabuto, and Faiz. lastly, at least try to feel the first 5 episodes of a season. that's long enough to get to know if you'll like it

Kamen Rider is one of those Toku series where there's no series for newbies. What I mean is that it doesn't matter which series you started with, we all have our own unique experiences with this series. I myself started with Den-O and fell in love with it ever since. My sister started with Ex-Aid, some my friends started with Kuuga, W, Zero One, and others. Almost everyone I know have their own first series

Yeah that's true - the idea of this video started from me telling the uninitiated about KR and inevitably they would see how many shows there were and ask me where to start, so It's mostly for those overwhelmed with choice lol

Big fan of FMA, I noped out of Gotchard the moment Rinne started to explain the show's interpretation of alchemy. It's more akin to magic instead of pseudo-science, in practice and exposition. That's a big enough turnoff for me, plus I have plenty of Reiwa shows on my backlog already so this one just goes to the back of that list. Maybe one day when I don't mind throwing away the law of equivalent exchange just so I could enjoy the show, I'd pick it back up. I'd have 0 issue if Gotchard is just a pokemon trainer that actually knows how to communicate better with the Chemies than others. Magic portrayed as pseudo-science is where I draw the line

Dawg, the target audience is 5 years old... You're complaining it's not some over complicated bullshit that a kid isn't gonna comprehend. They convert objects to other objects, that's good enough. Just like fullmetal alchemist as he said.

Just remember when I was wanting to start into the Riders but didn't know which series to go, then I just said "screw it" and I give it a chance do Ichigo, thinking to watch only a few episodes and go to a more modern series like W or something, and 20 episodes later I was completely invested and just watched the entire 98 episodes in a few weeks lol Ichigo is such a banger of a series But I would like to shout to Zero One as a perfect starting point for new fans too, because it's kinda like a modern ichigo, a vanilla series, green rider based on grasshopper, cool characters, awesome universe lore, etc

If ur watching this lookin for an easy answer to start with 1. If you need some sort of structure id genuinely just start from kuuga (the first heisei show) and go in order from there 2. Literally just watch whatever show sounds cool to you none of them are connected to each other unless its an anniversary show meant to call back to past shows. If you think a show has a cool premise you can just dive in.

I really appreciate this as someone who is interested in Kamen Rider but knows absolutely nothing about it. I was into power rangers when i was younger, this almost takes me to that time. And I really like the bug aesthetic of the outfits and powers. This was really useful to get a starting point. I especially like how you pointed out that some series dont require knowing prior things. As some series seem to be sequel or are anniversary series. im going to start with OOOs and then maybe the OG one or W after, thanks again. I might check out Super sentai as well :)

Personally, besides Black & RX, the Kamen Rider series that really makes me want to dive into the world of Kamen Rider is Gaim; the Orange Samurai 🍊 grabbed me instantly lol

the list is great, the only think I dont agree with is zi-oh. Those throwback moments for long time fans of the series are what makes that season special. Theres a lot of things about the riders that do appear in zi-oh that will go over new viewers head unless they have context from the original series. To the new viewers who might be interest: Ex-Aid, Build, and Amazons(The 2016 version, a very dark series as well)are also great watches

Love the format. I’ve been a power rangers/Ultraman fan since I was young and super Sentai a little later however never gave Kamen Rider a chance until last year and now ima big fan. I tried a bunch on tubi at once, However Ryuki got me hooked so that’s the first one I’ve finished

Definitely! It has one of my favorite female riders (valkyrie) and the action is very anime-like - the story feels a little rushed towards the end due to the pandemic in 2020, but worth the watch! It's also on a free app called Tubi in the US so very easy to binge

I think having Zi-o so low is a bit much. I agree with the reasoning but would probably put it closer to 8 or 9 since it’s not for everyone and can be confusing without seeing shows like decade.
