NOTE: This list only includes modern roller coasters. There are many vintage coasters lost to history, and some that may not have 100% accurate measurements. I just found out about one from the '20s called the "Giant Skyrocket" that was reportedly a mile and a quarter (6,600 ft) long. Though besides a newspaper article and a few photos, there is not a lot of information about it, so the length may have been misreported. For this list, I worked to the best of my knowledge.

My dad was involved as a crane driver building THE ULTIMATE. He Worked at Light Water Valley for months during track assembly. Also on installing the Revised track layout "humps" before the second lift hill to slow the trains down. As the first hill was literally a downhill 55m.p.h sprint into the valley. Apparently the other option was a "water splash" to cool the wheels/bearings. The Ultimate Was also prone to "stopping" on the 2nd lift hill! Usually on a school trip! I remember riding in the first few weeks after opening. Must be nearly 30 years old now, the Longest Coaster in Europe and still one of the best in the U.K/World!!
@reillywalker1952 жыл бұрын
It's 31 years old now. Last I'd read, park officials are planning to save the ride. While the park is primarily marketed for children and families now, its managers at least acknowledge the significance of its star attraction.

The Ultimate truly is an ultimate experience. While the first part is actually really smooth, the second half slams you from left to right and from right to left, doing these banked turns in the woods. This ride really feels like a long journey, and is pretty unique. And there is a chance you hit some pheasants running around the tracks - which is really odd.
