I dont care what anyone says, Martin Brodeur is the greatest of all time for goalies!
@matts65513 жыл бұрын
I mean he has the all-time most records to back it up so anyone who denies that is clearly just a hater and jealous
@TheSnapback2 жыл бұрын
@@matts6551 The records were mostly from his longevity. He has the most wins but also the most losses. He never won a Conn Smythe or Hart out of his 22 seasons, so it definitely can be denied. When you have goalies like Patrick Roy, Dominik Hasek, and Jacque Plante in the equation, then Brodeur definitely can't be announced the greatest. If Lundqvist played the same amount of games as Brodeur, he would have a similar record. Brodeur's success mostly came from his team, you have to admit. By that I mean his cups, his Vezina trophies were deserved. No I am not jealous, I do think Brodeur was an incredible goalie. However, I am not blinded by deceiving records and know Brodeur is not the greatest of all time. Sorry, but it's the truth.
@brendanwoerner33522 жыл бұрын
@@TheSnapback lundquist didnt Stanley cups get outta here with that stat!!! Lundquist was good but he was younger than Brodeur and still lost in 2012! Btw he is no disrespect to Roy of Terry Sawchuk. But your insane if your trying to compare Lundquist of all people!
@TheSnapback2 жыл бұрын
@@brendanwoerner3352 You ignored my point. Lundqvist didn't get any cups because of his team, not because he wasn't just as great of a goalie. Brodeur had the best defensive teams in the league during his cup wins, if he was mainly responsible he would have won a Conn Smythe or some kind of MVP award but he didn't. I'm not saying Lundqvist ranks higher than Brodeur overall, but they played in different eras. After the 2004-05 lockout, Lundqvist would be better, and that includes 2012. Brodeur's success is highly inflated because of his longevity in the league. If you want to say he has the most wins, he also has the most losses. Lundqvist ended his career with an average SV% of .918 while Brodeur ended with a SV% of .912. But in the end, I never said Lundqvist was better overall. I was merely saying Lundqvist would average nearly the same amount of wins if he played the same time. Don't know why you got so offended, these are literally stats.

#2 is insane. One of the best ever. I also would've added the scorpion tail save but that's in other top 10s I'm sure. Watching this is undeniable proof to the haters that Marty wasn't good just because of the 'trap'. He faced several quality shots and constantly showed his legendary instincts, angles, glove hand and acrobatics. He was also the best stickhandling goalie EVER and the NHL changed the rules just because of him. That alone is a testament to greatness.
