Hes, just a slight correction on the Ghost Max 1 vs 2; the midsole IS actually different between the two. The 1’s use the DNA Loft v2 which is rubber + air blend while 2’s use the DNA Loft v3 which is Supercritical EVA injected with Nitrogen (also used on Glycerin 20/21). You should definitely try the Max 2’s! DNA Tuned used in the Glycerin Max apparently is based on DNA Loft v3 but apparently has different density foam for different parts of the midsole. I tried both 1080 v13 and 14 in store even tho not for sale till 10/10. Wider at the toes on 14, better stability, little more firm but still soft and comfy. Get the v14 for sure over 13, much better shoe. The upper knit is much more breathable and nice as well.

I'll have to try the v14. The 13's didn't work for me. The toe box was too "shallow". It pressed the top of my big toe. Appreciate the info on the 14's.

Wow...i found the more V5s firmer then the 1080 13s.. reports are the V14s are firmer than the 13s which is disappointing

In Lanzarote with extreme heat and the more v4 is a beast of a shoe! Can only imagine the more v5 as an upgrade, love NB shoes recently

Is there a shoe that gives a "squishy" feel for lighter folks? I've tried out many of the shoes on this list and it just feels like I'm standing on the foam vs sinking into the foam like you are showing when you flex and put pressure on the shoe. Thanks!

Balos freaking ROCK, just as Hess said. I was surprised at his top ten list and the order Hess chose. I watch most of Hess’s content and i was certain he was going to say his number one were the New Ballance Balos. I have all four of Hess’s 2024 New ballance top picks and I agree with Hess that the Balos just feel crazy good on feet and so far my top New Ballance shoe of 2024. , the V5 are probably in the top 3-4 shoe in my opinion. All the other other 2024 New Balance realeses are close followers

Hess, a very interesting updated top ten list for 2024! I love the New Balance V5’s as the top pick, which I wasn’t expecting. Don’t get me wrong, I have a pair of V5’s as well and they are a solid choice without a doubt. When you follow up many of your top picks with "well, New Balance, ext. has come out with a few other crazy shoes this year that are close competitors," you redeemed yourself. Dude, you're really been spot on with your top ten list over the years and overall recomendations. You even managed to sneak in a few new shoes this year i was not expecting on your top ten list that I may have to try. As a suggestion, I would love for you to do a top ten list ranking each sneaker from .001 to 10.0 on cushioning and comfort. In other words, are the New Balance V5’s a 10.0 and the number two rated shoe a 9.8 in these areas, ext? I guess we are all just wondering how close these top shoes are to each other, right? I think this would give your subscribers, like me, more solid information. Are the top three maybe so close to each other that it's a toss-up and we should just go with the brand we most like, or are most of the top ten ranking a 9.8 and above for cushioning and comfort? You may say to go back and look at each individual shoe's review, but come on Hess, make it easy on us, lol. Thoughts, Hess?.

As i have climbed into my 30s i realized my feet/knees do not like these max cushion sneakers. I really enjoy and find more comfortable something a bit firmer like nike zoom air or cushlon and recently the thinner light boost setup in the AE1 lows.

I am 38, have had multiple knee surgeries, and have found that the cushion level of the new balance 1080 v13 actually helps to alleviate a lot of the knee pain I would otherwise experience wearing a firmer shoe. Not sure if the 1080 is really considered a “max cushion” shoe but just thought I’d add a contrasting perspective.
