Appreciate video content! Sorry for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Lammywalness His Happiness Guide (probably on Google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for understanding what men really want without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my m8 finally got astronomical success with it.

Dude!!! I’m in paradise now!!! I felt like you can read my mind!! 😂😂 I thought for almost a month now about what books to get for clothing and fabric and there it is, you uploaded a video about it! I love books and with each videos I had seen about great books collection, this is the best!! Especially how you mentioned dictionary to your list. They’re are more important than any basic books and books are essential to have in a home! Books can take you to places where you never imagined unless you take actions! I got books on healthy mindset, leadership, communication, sales and I need to get what you mentioned and books on classic cocktails bars and etc such as The American Bar. (I think I got that one right). Thanks for what you do, doing your passion does inspire certain individuals like me. ❤️

The only book on men's fashion that I have is Esquire's The handbook of style. It probably isn't as thorough as some of these titles mentioned in the video, but I would highly recommend it as a good starting point and a good introduction to men's fashion. I got mine off of Amazon for ten or fifteen bucks.

Raphael, I know this isn't the topic of the video, but I've noticed that you often read the first couple of comments on every video, and I know that if I asked it on another video of yours you'd probably never end up seeing it, so here goes: I've watched your video on sweaters, but you didn't mention this there nor in your sleeve length video. My questions are: 1) When I wear a sweater or a cardigan on top of a dress shirt *WITHOUT a jacket* , should I let about 1cm of shirt *cuff visible or not* ? 2) When I wear a sweater or a cardigan on top of a dress shirt *WITH a jacket* , should I let about 1cm of shirt *cuff visible or not* ? 3) When I wear a sweater or a cardigan on top of a dress shirt WITH a jacket, should I let about 1cm of the *cuff of the SWEATER / CARDIGAN also visible or not* ? And I have one more question about sweaters: 4) If I wear a *sweater* or a cardigan *on top of a POLO* that doesn't have a stiff collar like the one you find on a dress shirt, should I sort of *"tuck" the flimsy collar underneath the sweater* , or should the *collar be on top of a part of the sweater* ? I really do hope you see this, because I honestly don't know who else would be able to help me with this!! Thank you so very much in advance!!

Fine questions, I hope you get a reply so I can know also.
@gentlemansgazette6 жыл бұрын
1) yes 2) yes 3)A bit tricky. I would simply put on the outfit and see how it looks. as you move, the sweater will show eventually, so it is hard not to show it.If the sweater sleeves are super long it can look weird. 4) don't wear a polo with a sweater ;)
@yasserbs6 жыл бұрын
@@gentlemansgazette thank you!! And why not wear a polo with a sweater? :)
@cynicaesthetics43416 жыл бұрын
@@yasserbs Wearing a polo with a sweater is kind of inconsistent because a polo is primarily a summer garment, while a sweater is used more in the winter or colder times.
@yasserbs6 жыл бұрын
@@cynicaesthetics4341 yeah, I thought about that too, but I can think of some situations in which it would make sense to wear them together. For instance, it makes sense if you're leave home in the morning and it's a bit chilly, but you know that it's gonna get hot later on during the day and don't want to sweat as much as you would in a shirt

Highly reccomend these two books aswell: - Esquire: The Handbook of Style. A man’s guide to looking good. | Great comprehensive guide with a lot of visuals. - John Varvatos: Rock in Fashion | The history and influence of rock in fashion, beautifully illustrated and written by the iconic designer. (This book doesn’t have the sartorial theme from the list, but its definetly worth looking into)

I have only purchase one men's fashion book. It's Men of Color: Fashion, History and Fundamentals by Lloyd Boston. It was published in 1998, so the photos look somewhat dated now. But the information it contains is still relevant today. The target audience is African American men who are looking to learn the fundamentals of men’s style. However, anyone could enjoy reading this book.

Those videos take a lot of time and there are copyright issues, and the rights holders files claims even though one could argue it is fair use. Bottom line is, those are super risky and the channel may be shut down. So for the time being, no.

Thks old so much, I'm an old soldier & retired physicist. Civilian social/formal wears have always confused me especially in my retirement. I'll get your 1st two recommendations & try to find time to read them. Just one constructive criticism though. You have not mentioned anything about embassy/diplomat dress codes/standards especially for formal events. I might be bias but I assume theirs are much more mature/broader than civilians'. After reading your two recommended books, I'll try to find copies of embassy/diplomat dress codes/standards for comparison. Thks again
