You can not live on base to receive this benefit. I plan on moving to Wellington, Florida to be closer to my family for support. I’m currently living in New York City. I would’ve loved to follow the love of my life everywhere he goes, but he is a sea man. I won’t be seeing him much regardless. He can send for me anytime he wants once he’s settled. MyCAA is for E1-E5 O1-O3 and W1-W3, dental isn't automatically given. You have to be enrolled and it costs per month (and the coverage is horrible), the commissary is not tax free. They have a 5% surcharge. The only tax free entity on base is AAFES.

@@cierabrowne4668 We ended up having a very long conversation about where our lives' were headed, why he wanted to join and so forth. Turns out he wanted to help and protect people. After a while he decided to become an officer so he could be home with the family while fulfilling his dreams. He's also looking into joining the national guard, which I support. I believe it was the right path for us and we're happy. Everyone is different and your husband may desire to enlist in the military for a different reason. I've learned the most important tools you can use in situations like this are communication, honesty and compromise. I hope I was able to help some.

3:39 everyone receives bah not only people with families 💀 the only people that don’t receive bah are people living on Base
@alondraramsey63943 жыл бұрын
Not all service members receive BAH. It depends on their rank and branch of service, if they’re married, and on base housing availability. All service members married or not do receive BAS though. The only difference is that you actually get the check in the mail if you’re married. If you’re living in the barracks then your BAS automatically goes towards chow hall. And true, my husband and I don’t get a BAH check living here on base but we still get our BAS
@ricky47363 жыл бұрын
@@alondraramsey6394 I can only speak on what I know from the Air Force. And all members DO receive BAH no matter the rank or married. It only matters if you’re living on base or not. Some military members have dependents so they’re allowed to live off base once they enlist.

The Army's dental insurance is hot garbage! The coverage is so limited it covers cleaning/exams/ and that's about it! Active duty does not pay for tricare. Retirees, reservists, and National Guardsman have to pay for tricare prime. The PX and commissary are no cheaper than discount retailers off post with the exception of alcohol and tobacco. The PX does have price match and this is great for large ticket items like furniture appliances and expensive electronics. There are a lot of "benefits" or what the military would like to think are benefits so are considerably more expensive than military families can realistically afford.

This is also wrong, there’s a lot of stipulations when being single and living off post. If you live off post by choice you do not get bah. If your single with a child (dependent) you get partial bah. If your a E6 and above some cases E5 , or if on base housing is not available you’ll get full bah. Question, can you get BAH as a military spouse if your spouse is deployed to another state ? Like you two live in different states
@MonseSanchezHewett2 жыл бұрын
You mean if they’re stationed in a different state? Yes he can still get bah but you will have to figure out his living situation because they won’t let him live in the barracks if he’s receiving bah.
