The matches between these 2 players are always incredible to watch. Despite people thinking that Ginting gives Momota a big headache, since Momota's return in 2018, the head to head win Ratio of Momota vs Ginting is still a BIG 10-3. (Reminds me of Lin Dan vs LCW ratio pre 2013-14. Momota has always been more consistent than Ginting. It's true however that Ginting managed to beat Momota twice in a row in 2018 : asian games and victor china open but other than that, he has only won once after 2018. What I saw throughout these past 2 years is that when Ginting plays at 100% energy and focus, he can beat Momota. The only problem is that when it gets to 3 sets, Momota manages to win 100% of the time. Ginting's relentless attacking style is amazing when he plays 100%, but he can't seem to keep it up for the whole 3 sets, usually his energy and focus fall short in the 3rd set. The only 3 times he managed to beat Momota (post 2018) is by winning in 2 sets. Momota's playstyle seems to be safe and to go for longer rallies rather than to finish the point right away, thus tiring his opponents. Overall, Ginting seems to have the perfect playstyle, but he's not consistent enough. He seems to be always focused when playing Momota, but lacks a lot of focus when playing other players. Momota is almost the perfect player, incredible mental focus (comparable to LD), amazing defense (comparable to LCW) and consistent/safer overall playstyle. Plus, he is left handed, and it helps because people aren't used to play left handed players. The only thing he seems to lack a bit, is finishing rallies with his smashes, reminds me of LCW in the past who had trouble finishing rallies vs Lin Dan (maybe Lin Dan just had amazing defense and reading capabilities) and Chen Long (the great wall of China). Edit: Listed in the news, about Momota's game after the accident: ''But after complaining of discomfort and double vision while playing, the fracture was discovered in an examination on Friday. The injury appears to be a result of last month's traffic accident. '' Vision is crucial in badminton, I hope to see him and Ginting playing at 100% for the years to come. I hope Momota will recover fast, seems like he will undergo surgery and miss 3 whole monthes of badminton. This can sometimes end careers as some player don't recover 100%. :(

Even if it passed the net, umpire can misjudge and declare it fault, in which hawkeye can’t help. Momota is prepared to block straight, so Ginting want to graze the shuttle downward, but it’s just not enough force due to the risk his racket will touch the net too.

What makes them so satisfying to watch is because both made net exchange as must-have weapon in their attacks. Other younger MS doesn't rely on net exchange so much and rather relies on finishing kill (which doesn't work on Momota). Although both have amazing net skills, they use it differently. Momota often uses net shot to slow the pace, either to force opponent to lift so he can prolong the rally safely, or to just net kill when opponent did poor net shot. Ginting on the other hand uses net shot to up the pace. By forcing opponent to lift high, he can suddenly get behind the shuttle to prepare a steep attack and series of flat shot to pin down the opponent. Or, like Momota too, just make a net kill when opponent did poor net shot. In addition to their contrasting uses of net shot, if you observe from the side of the net. You can see that both of them had an amazing quality of net shot. Whenever they net exchange, it is in such a way that the shot is delayed enough and with optimum height that it can't be net killed. So, the opponent had to make perfect net shot again, or they had to lift high. Whoever lifts high means the shuttle is in opponent's control. It will be an attack if Momota lifts, or it will prolong the rally if Ginting lifts. Their net shot is very difficult to reply because it tumbles and touching the net before falling down, very consistently. Other current MS players excluding old legends (LD, LCW, CL) at the moment can't keep up with this type of net shot.
