DUUUUUUUDE! phantom manta is my favorite boss from sunshine, I found it to be fun and easy, the trick is hover nozzle fly by and hide in the ocean. because manta will turn around after a little bit.

I always hid under the little gazebos. Because they had a roof, the manta couldn't get to you, and there was water close by to refill.

That can work but the water can make it harder to hit the mantas as well. as do the roofs under the juice bar huts. so unless you are masters of FLUDD Usage it will only make it take That much longer, but it is indeed that much Safer too.

King Whomp: Extremely easy and predictable. I know it's supposed to be an early boss but considering you can easily get 3 Stars in Bob-Omb Battlefield access Jolly Roger Bay and Cool Cool Mountain makes this boss practically meaningless in SM64/SM64DS.

The Phantom Ray can be beat using one trick. Jump and spray at the same time and you'll do a sort of burst of water. I mean it takes out your water supply in under 7 seconds but it works

Phanta Manta isn’t too hard if you just go into the ocean as then it cannot spread the goop so you just need to use the hover nozzle. Plus you can easily refill your water

The Phantom Manta is tricky, but using the jetpack nozzle makes it easier to damage the Manta from the safety of the air, as well as clearing the ground for when you land. Using the regular nozzle would make an already difficult fight nearly impossible.

OBJECTION: Boom Boom and Pom Pom are tied as the worst Mario boss objectively, Phanta Manta was creative, Boom Boom and Pom Pom you have to fight like a million times in one game and they aren't even that good, they are way too easy and take up the spaces for any original bosses (at least the Koopalings are _actually_ good), that being said, 3D Land is the worst Mario game of all time (that is actually a main series game) and Hotel Mario is so bad it's good and Mario's Time Machine is just, absolutely terrible...

Larry Koopa 64 DS hacker How tf can you objectively say 3D Land is the worst main-line Mario game, just because of 2 bosses? At least it wasn’t JUST Boom Boom, Pom Pom is a little bit harder to dodge, and you can do an infinite 1-Up trick with her. She anyways appeared in 2 games only. 3D Land even had one of the best final boss stages, I mean, you’re literally climbing up the falling bits of Bowser’s Castle while he chases you. And it’s one of the most memorable games on 3DS, and the best game to utilise the 3D feature, when many other games don’t use it. despite disliking the phantamanta as a kid, I've actually grown to appreciate the fight over the years, rather than hiding in a tree I go around sprinklering, spin hovering, water blasting, and hovering over the phantamantai constantly (spin hovering is a terrible idea in this fight and usually results in taking damage, although it is one of the coolest maneuvers in the game)

Yeah, Torkdrift could have been a lot better, but what about Mecha Wiggler. The Sherm controls are fine during the regular level, but in a boss, it doesn't work, they're too finicky. Also in the second phase, it's so annoying when you have one segment left to hit, and he goes into the invincible phase again for a whole minute.

Think about it this way: if the polluted pirhana is repeatedly showing up in the game, it’s probably not a boss. Goombas show up everywhere in galaxy, and have even more basic attack patterns. Killing them is a matter of one jump button. Yet they weren’t on this list.

Out of the three SM64 bosses that you talked about at Number 8, the Wiggler is the most creative of the three. Technically, Super Mario Galaxy 2 made an improvement on the King Whomp, just like Super Mario Sunshine to the Wiggler, and in the DS Version, King Bob-Omb attacks differently in the first mission. While King Bob-Omb (DS) has two unique boss fights, and the Wiggler can do something after it's hit, King Whomp adds nothing in either versions. In fact, the Wiggler is the most original, as King Bob-Omb is based on a later encountered enemy, the Chuckya, and It's worse for King Whomp, as it's based on an enemy encountered on the same level. Basically, King Whomp desires to be on this list more than the Wiggler.

About the Big Bullies, again they are not original. They are based on their smaller counterparts, first found on the same level as the Big Bully, and before the Ice Bully. Thinking of them as a boss is basically the same thing as thinking that Big Boo is a boss.

My opinions on these bosses: Torkdrift: It was a cool boss, not amazing but alright. Also it's battle theme is awesome! King Ka-Thunk: Yeah it would have been a bit better if the ground that he falls on didn't glow red before he attacked. Wiggler: Not got much to say about this one, I guess it was kinda bland. Big Bully and Chill Bully: Not too interesting but not too bad Prince Bully: Easy but not terrible. Baron Brrr: I guess they could have found a way to make the fight a bit more interesting. Undergrunt Gunner: They seem more like minibosses to me. Although the fight in Toy Time Galaxy was alright. Polluted Piranha, Plungelo and Phantamanta: I haven't played Super Mario Sunshine.

Let's see... Torkdrift arguably can be considered a mini-boss, so it may or may not be invalid. King Ka-Thunk is a boss however, as it appears in World 5-Castle, so it's valid. The Wiggler definitely is a boss because it has the boss music, however it's not justified because King Whomp has the bad stuff like the Wiggler, but arguably worse. Polluted Piranhas can be considered mini-bosses, as it's encountered multiple times, and it's easy to defeat, so it's invalid. Big Bullies and the Ice Bully are mini-bosses, as they do not have the boss theme, and the Big Bully can be encountered multiple times. This means it's invalid. Prince Bully can also be considered a mini-boss as it doesn't appear in castle levels and does appear multiple times (this excludes Boss Rush levels where the major bosses are encountered a second time). Baron Brrr can be considered a boss, meaning it's valid. The Undergrunt Gunners, due to the nonexistent impact and the multiple non-boss rush encounters can be considered a Mini-Boss, meaning it's invalid. Plungalos can be considered a boss, however I do not know too much about Super Mario Sunshine, however I do know that Shadow Mario is Bowser Jr, and Peach is not Bowser Jr's mother. I guess it can be valid. The Phantamanta would basically be explained the same as the Plungalos, as well as the part about the little knowledge about Super Mario Sunshine. So out of the 10 (11 if you want the Big Bully and Ice Bully to be seprate) entries, we got three (or four if again, you want to seprate the Big Bully and Ice Bully) mini bosses, two bosses that is argued to be considered either a boss or a mini-boss, and 5 bosses that are basically confirmed position as a boss.

All these bosses have cool designs and tactics to beat them, anything can be better if improved on, though these bosses could use a bit more. 10: Torkdrift is actually a really cool boss, though extremely easy once you realize those pairs of 3 blocks on the two sides of the arena are actually high enough for you to get to and be 100% safe, he reminded me a lot about the Pikmin series, the eyes, the music, maybe less of the fact he's mechanical but the environment as well. He's a cool boss That could use a bit more. 9: King Ka-Thunk is a cool looking boss, and could be way harder if given the right things, he is around halfway through the game, which is kinda sad with his difficulty, but Mario games are directed towards children, and you can't blame Nintendo for making the bosses a bit easier in their 3D games. 8: The Wiggler is kinda boring, I can agree there, but getting to him and figuring out how to fight him at first *is* a bit confusing, especially when the main way to defeat enemies in SM64 is punching and kicking, you never really just on enemies. 7: The Gooey Piranha is extremely early on in the game, he's not *really* a boss, more of a mini-boss to get in your way. 6: The Bullies, they are cool designs and ideas, and could definitely be improved upon, though for being the *first* 3D Mario game, just like the Wiggler, hard at first, but easy once you know what you're doing. 5: Prince Bully is just like Gooey Piranha except he's not really an early on boss, he's a miniboss meant to be in your way, that's about it, he does have a cool design though. 4: Baron Brrr is actually a boss I really like, in my first ever file of Galaxy 1, I never even got to him because I wasn't sure how, now, I was 7 at the time, so don't judge. He has a *cool* design and an interesting tactic, if improved upon he could definitely be a way more difficult and interesting boss, let's hope he comes back with some new tactics in Galaxy 3! Pun intended by the way. 3: The Undergrunt Gunners are very annoying, they are, just like Gooey and Prince though, minibosses. Just meant to be in your way, and not really a fight you reflect on next to, "Oh hey, that had a star. Neat, I guess." 2: The Plungelos seem more like Minibosses to me, even if they *are* in the boss section, just like Gooey though, just a miniboss in your way. 1: Phanta Manta is a REALLY cool boss, it's actually really fair, and not too difficult if you have the *HOVER NOZZLE* as everyone in the comments is mentioning. I don't know why many people hates Wii U, it has a lot of fun Mario games such as Super Marii Maker, Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros U, and the function of connecting Wii remote to play mutiplayer is very good too, I dreamed to have it!

Super Mario Galaxy had the most unique bosses. From the giant tree shaped rock ghost to lakitu's dad on steroids who went out for the milk and drank it himself, and prehistoric jaws remake to terry the tarantula on radioactive crack, the galactic rogues gallery goes on. My favorite was the fast and furious Dom torreto wannabe with the chariot.

Sunshine was the last Mario Game i played. And i still remember the the Plungelo and the Phantamanta after all these years. They are a pain in the 7th planet of our solar system. ;)
