The Vincent Black Shadow is a legendary motorcycle both in terms of its performance and style. I can’t understand how this motorcycle did not even make your list?! The Vincent Black Shadow remains unsurpassed by any other motorcycle with only the original Triumph Bonneville and Ducati 916 even coming close. Also I would consider the the Brough Superior SS100 and original Triumph Speed Twin a better looking motorcycle than the Indian.

I am good with the Indian being the winner, but your right the Black Shadow should have been mentioned in there somewhere.

There's little controversy that the best looking Harley-Davidson of all time was the 1936 EL model "61 OHV" Knucklehead. The Scout is a nice looking bike, but it's not even close in sheer beauty.
@Anton_G_6042 жыл бұрын
You keep nailing these lists. It's difficult to argue with the Scout 101. For me though it would be a tie between 101 and the Road King with Road King possibly taking it because it's still in continuous production. While the model designation itself is not that old, the Road King traces its lineage to the most important and stunning looking bikes Harley made, the FL line back in the 1940s and further back still. You are absolutely spot on: look at a Road King on the highway and you can't tell the difference between it and a 1965 Electra Glide. Harley did an amazing job by introducing the Road King Special, which modernized the look of the old classic, but it's still very much an iconic design that just defies time.

the best looking sport bike to me is the 3rd gen Yamaha R6. I had a 2010 Yamaha R6 fresh off the showroom floor as a first bike. I was drooling over that bike for years until I could actually afford one. I got it right when I turned 21. I'm on my 3rd Yamaha, now onto hyper nakeds but someday I'll get that R6 again. I can't take my eyes off of the razor sharp side view of the tail and also the headlights. I have to look back every time I walk away from it. I have to. different spokes for different folks ;)

Early 80s CB750 Custom is what I would show an alien what an earth motorcycle is. Great curvy lines without being over styled or trying to look like something else. While it drew inspiration from Harley Triumph BMW it wasn’t trying to look like any particular bike. It was its own bike. It is a stunning looking bike that didn’t need every chrome part known to look good. You could use an early 80s nighthawk or even a sportster as well

Great list! Some truely iconic bikes there and it’s hard to argue against any of them. Personally I’d have added the original Kawasaki Z1 900 and the Honda RC30. First saw the Z1 as a kid of 7 and it made a huge impression. My dad bought a CB125 and when he went to pick it up there was a Z1 in the showroom. Wow! I was already riding bikes when the RC30 came out. Absorbed every detail of that beautiful bike but the $16K NZ$ price tag meant it stayed firmly in the showroom. I guess the bikes of our formative years always pull the heartstrings.

It's so true about looks being personal for me I think the best-looking Cruiser would either be a rebel 500 or the Kawasaki Vulcan s, sports bikes honestly I got to go with the ninja 400 to 1000, and then for Adventure bikes it's pretty much a toss-up between Triumph Tiger and I'm not a BMW fan but I do like the BMW R 1250 and I would probably never own one but the H2 are nice and I also like the Harley WLA that was used during WWII.

I have to agree with some of the comments that point to not including classic english bikes. Also, no mention of 1940's Indian Chief and those elegant, distinctive fenders? No Moto Guzzi v85tt in adv? No Indian FTR? But, I agree in not including Japanese origami-looking modern naked bikes. Another good video you manage to put out while industry still has nothing much going on. Any chance of a video explaining the general aspects of how electronics works (FI, traction control, ABS...) for us who only have a limited knowledge and purely mechanical bikes? Cheers!

The M8 Fat Bob won't go down as an icon but if HD ditches air-cooled engines for good (which looks likely) it may well be remembered as their greatest and indeed most beautiful air-cooled model outside of the classics. Contrary to the initial reception, while it firmly steps into the here-and-now, I think the harley heritage is plain to see in all its glory on that bike. Maybe I'm just too smitten..

Hard to disagree with your choices as you have not picked ugly ones. Over time there have been many bikes (for example the Vincent) that could merit a place on these lists but as you said it is subjective. The objectively based contradiction: That Suzuki GSX-R you showed there was a 1988 model, not the 1994 one. In 1994, the GSX-R W were the contemporary ones, and a generation I find rather attractive. I agree with your judgement that the MV Agusta F4 was the best looking Super Sports ever. With Ducati, I much prefer the 749/999 though, and the Panigales. The subjectively based contradiction: Nae, the Commando looks rubbish next to a Vincent Black Shadow! Being the old buzzer I am, I never forgot the impression the original BMW R80GS made on me in the travel stories in the magazines back in the eighties. It still looks like a machine that will go through everything, which gives this log quite some charm.
