Micro g under urmour don’t have ankle support, don't have waterproof membrane and they are not breathing well. For hot weather so much better is Keen NXIS Speed. It's amazing comfort, awesome breathable and dry surprised quickly

What would you suggest for flat / wide feet. I tried the Solomon and they were very uncomfortable due to the arch.

Yea Salomons are on the narrow side. If you are leaning towards hiking boot, check out Merrell and Keen. If you are thinking more combat boot, Garmont T8 might be a good option. Danner and Oakley might be good choices too.

I have the tac loadouts, quest 4d forces, xa forces, and lowa zephyrs. I've also had multiple Danners among several others. By far the most comfortable are the tac loadouts. The outsoles are also very, very good. They aren't water resistant but they breathe. They also don't seem to have a shank which is disappointing. They're like beefed up tennis shoes meant for desert environments. Salomon Quests are rugged meant for demanding environments. Once broken in theyre really comfortable. Not on the comfort level of the tac loadouts and they're pretty heavy. But they're good for super demanding terrains with heavy loads. XA forces are like the tac loadouts in that they're like a beefed up tennis shoe. Not as comfortable as the UA, but they're good for whatever you do on a day to day basis. Not a big fan of Keen. Lowa Zephyrs are pretty uncomfortable with a super tight forefoot. Rock hard. Not a fan. Literally gave them away. Not because they're low quality, but because of how uncomfortable they are. See ya.

I have 3 altamas 2 mid 1 low and they are awesome shoes. Longest pair so far is 3 years the others are 2 years old and no issues with stitching or glues.

@@UltimateSurvivalGear coyote is my wear around pair but they keep ending up in the garage working on stuff but oil seems to not stick to em so that's cool. The low one are camo print and yup too many questions when I wear em out in public.

#1 too many shoes. #2 I won’t wear a combat boot that doesn’t have a size zip. I can be in my boots and 5 miles down the road in any emergency before you finished tying the first one. #3 The USN Seals often wear Converse Chuck Taylors so the Altama maritime is the closest in this video. My personal favorites though are Blackhawk Ultralights (sidezip). You can stand on concrete for 8 hours and not know it. They have a dense layer of foam imbedded in-between the Vibram sole and the boot. Hands down the most lightest, most comfortable boots I’ve ever used. No insert can compare. You can run for days in them if needed. Just amazing feel to them. I also own a pair of Bates Ultralite tactical sidezip. Great boots but a little heavier and not as comfortable as the Blackhawks.

Salomon 4D Forces has been used in military operations and it is 6 in tall. I don't think a tall shaft is always an advantage for tactical application.
