Some people only wear fragrances to get compliments, perhaps use cologne to attract a partner, some people couldn't care less about compliments! I went to Uni for 4 years in Moscow and stacked up on perfumes there. Different girls like different types of perfumes, and definitely compliment me a lot. Two girls in my area were obsessed with Dubai and rich people. They complimented my Versace Eros and Tom Ford Noir Extreme. Others were into modern sporty scents, and Sauvage and Prada L'Homme got me a lot as well. Good video! I've been needing more channels to have a break from Jeremy :D

I think compliments either only exist in the U.S or the american fragheads are just super exaggerating the compliments. I never get any here in uganda yet I wear the elite stuff that everyone in America claims they get compliments from.

They're just probably around lots of people that know they're into fragrances, like how they mention office scents and work. So their coworkers or friends might be more inclined to say something about their scent. But I'm positive they exaggerate for the most part, if they get one or two unsolicited compliment, that's when they label it's as a compliment king. But at the end of the day, its more about what you like, and compliments shouldn't be the only reason why you buy a fragrance, because sometimes the expensive ones might not work with your skin chemistry.

I don't get as many complements as some say, but I do get a few compliments. So I don't think they are lying. But here is the kicker - I like crowd pleasing scents. I am not a frag-head and have a very 'common' nose so my taste is crowd pleasers, not fragrances that have rich depth or history etc and definitely not animalics. I find half my compliments come with fragrances people know or have smelt similar before. Example when I wear sauvage I get a compliment every single time. I wore to tesco (just before this lockdown was announced) and the cashier said - is that the Johnny Depp one you are wearing? It smells so good. I dont think she gives that same unsolicited compliment if she didnt have the opening line of knowing what is was. Which is why niche houses for me have much less compliments. Weirdly I'm also more likely to get compliments when i met couples and do that kiss on the cheek greeting rather than if I greeted a single lady.. almost like the women feel more secure complimenting you on your fragrance without worrying that you are going to take it the wrong way as their partners are standing besides them. But yeah in general I find the more crowd pleasing scents do get compliments even in say a shop like Zara the cashier will say it and then half the workers will come over and smell me. But when I wear something niche that frag-head like - I get nothing... no compliments nothing, and I am like do you lot know how much this cost?! yet no one appreciates this:):):)

Depends on more aspects, your surrounding or the energy you radiate, maybe people in your country don't compliment and are not as easy going as people in different areas. People that complimented me were mostly older than me, I would say mostly women 40+.

About the fragrances, my most complimented is Baccarat Rouge. Man, so many unsolicited compliments. Once I got 5 in a couple of hours. Check it out how it works on your skin. I also own Oud for Greatness, but got only 1 compliment so far.

This could've been an ultimate Fall/Winter list! Very true about context. I've gotten compliments even when I haven't been wearing a frangrance - literally on leftovers of scents on my shirt/scarf/jacket from days or weeks ago. The body heats up and there you go. When people are in the mood, thresholds apparently decrease.

People in the U.K. are quite reserved so it’s very unlikely you’ll get compliments. In other countries like the states, you’re probably more likely to get complimented. Really depends on the country and the culture.

Hi there, great, informative videos as always. You have introduced me to some new scents here. I will have a look at some on PP. As for Le Male, the current version is not a patch on what it was, it seems watered down. I think that`s why so many are jumping on the clones band wagon. As for compliments, here are my top ten: Acqua Di Parma, Colonia intensa oud - Amouage, Reflection man - Nasamatto, Black afgano - By Killian, Love don`t be shy - Afnan, Supremacy silver - Dior homme intense - Roma, Laura Biagiotti - Moschino homme - Opium YSL - Gold 24, (a cheap raspberry oud). Have you ever smelt Minotaure by Paloma Picasso?

I get a lot of compliments (usually one or two a day). I’m pretty friendly and outgoing at work and the compliments come either at the beginning of the conversation (as a starter) or at the end. So that means you have to have a long enough interaction to give someone the opportunity to give you a compliment. If you want compliments, go with one of the big 3 (Sauvage, Y edp, or Prada Luna Rosa Carbon). I usually give myself an extra spray after lunch to help with projection and longevity. One more thing, always know what to say when someone gives you a compliment, whether male or female, because if there’s awkwardness, that person will never give you a compliment again.

I agree With the compliments thing. If you buy a fragrance because reviewers hype it up as a compliment monster, you're gonna get dissappointed. A friendly compliment from close friends and collegues, yes that happens. But unless someone is trying to flirt With you, compliments from random strangers is a rare occasion. It's not normal that people approach someone to comment on something in general really, so why should a scent be any different?

That's the absolute truth! Here in the Uk where I live, Out and about when I wore my Parfums vintage, perfume parlours, Alexandria fragrances and even my Creed aventus sample I received not one compliment. Last year whilst on the plane to the Caribbean 6 compliments. Whilst in the Caribbean,out and about, daily compliments from Men and women wanting to know what scent I was wearing that day. The names and some even wrote them down.

1.Molecule 01 2. Tabocca Vanille 3. Black phantom MO1 always gets me compliments even from strangers even when I can't smell it. TV I wear clubbing and it's so loud, so that's balanced by the fact that some people might be averse to it. Black phantom similar to TV but more wearable.

Try Stercus by Orto Parisi. The parent company of Orto Parisi is also the parent company of Nasomatto. Stercus means “poop” basically. But don’t let that put you off. It is a beautiful scent. It has an air of cinnamon raisin toast sitting on wood. It gets me unsolicited compliments.

There is only two fragrances that I have had unsolicited (strangers) compliments. One is a cheapie which once got me a hug saying I smelled like a warm blanket and that one was Montblanc Individual (Legend Spirit also gets a few too but I rarely wear it cause I do not like it ...smells a little like bug spray to me) The other is One Million (i personally prefer Prive but original does better) in a club type setting only. Many others I got solicited, friend, or GF compliments but only those two unsolicited and only MB outside of party scene
