Top 10 most expensive notes in my collection

It’s not often I pull out all of the “biggies” at once. Here is $16,500 worth of my collection.

Nice notes man. My favorite among the grouping is the 1900 gold certificate. It's just such a tremendous piece of history. I've been growing my collection for 7 years now and its crazy how far I've come in the hobby. It's guys like you who produce content like this that gets me more and more excited to collect.

Btw this video has given me my wishlist of US banknotes, all 4 are in your fifteen. Very Nice Collection . I would of had a hard time deciding what note to show . The educational 2 dollar bill is my favorite . Thank you for sharing do you collect silver or gold coins ?

Thank you very much! For this list I just let the price guide do the work. That $2 note was the first educational I got and really got me hooked on completing the set. I have a little bit of gold. Just a 1oz. round and I got a $5 gold coin to match with my rackateers nickel. I have a book or 2 with Morgans in it and a bunch of constitutional, but most of my coins are just for the metal content and not the numismic value. Thanks!

These are great - but may I ask how long it has taken you to get these and also , if you don't mind me asking, how in the world did you manage to budget for these? Did you target say getting 2 -3 of these a year?

I started collecting about 5 years ago. I'm a poker dealer and a poker player. I have learned how important it is to have cash. When I do well, I would pick up a note. If I went to Vegas with $5k and broke even, I might buy a note and mentally treat it like a poker loss. Tax returns helped me get some. I dealt a mini bad beat and got a really nice tip. Maintaining my poker bankroll Has taught me to save. It's much easier to spend $1500 on a note when you have an envelope with $4k in it. Good luck to you!

@@Stuplubakcurrency Thanks. Actually I am finding that coin collecting and numismatics is beneficial to smart budgeting --- especially one has a limited budget. In my case the PUA helped me get rid of old credit card debt and has had me vastly reduce the amount I put on it. Plus being able to reduce a bit a very modest, low interest student loan was helpful. I got the PUA as I am a musician so got hard hit by the pandemic. Anotehr factor is managing my family's estate expenses, nothing helps you budget better than managing someone lese's money who really needs the help. But love how your profession in poker has given you such a great education --- I am a bit envious. If one is in the arts, if you are to survive you gain a similar respect for cash too and learn to use credit very gingerly.

@@chrissahar2014 That is a lesson I learned over a decade ago. Being in and around the gaming industry let’s you understand how important cash is. I can’t swipe a credit card to play poker. If you want to play, you need cash. Because it’s also my job, I don’t have the opportunity to play as much. Therefore the bankroll just sits. So I use it to get singles to search and to buy the occasional note!😁 Take care!

Only the 1869 is the Rainbow note. All other years are on a plain white background.

Anything you do to limit the number of notes you save increases your chance of pairing notes. But the magic number seems to be 1000. Once you have 1000 of a particular type saved, you have a much better chance.

Biblical scholars have gone to great lengths to prove Jesus was a direct descendant to King David. They traced the Family tree of Joseph through the bible almost 20 generations to prove this bloodline. Except they did this just to match a prophecy AND they keep coming up with the wrong number. There are multiple "official" numbers and lines that add or omit names or are put in different orders. It seems like an awful lot of work to try to link a bloodline considering they do it using Joseph. You know, the guy that didn't sleep with Mary. So none of his actual DNA was used in the conception. Oops!

I'm just curious, but why is the word "gaurantee" misspelled on so many of your graded notes? It spells "guaranty", which tells me I don't know if I can trust PMG..
