Burger is a very common name in Afrikaans, as is Jacques and Schalk. They aren't related. They aren't even from the same country in fact. Jacques is from Namibia, Schalk is from South Africa.

The thing is. These guys are probably all very nice. I met Sebastien Chabal. A very down to earth man, even more, casual. He grew up in a very modest environment, working class, in Valence, France. Ardèche région, Absolutely gorgeous place btw. Humble, nice and respectful. Always a little dad's joke hiding in his pocket during the conversation we had... As instance, Etzebeth is always very respectful to the ref and the players at the end. They're all like so. Martial artists mindset. It's war. We just see the worst part of them, when they play rugby, and that's why we love it.

I played rugby when I was in the army, what you have got to remember is if you do not tackle hard you get hurt, also there is so much Respect between the players, whatever happens on the field is forgot after the game. Jonah Lomu was an amazing player, his stats were 6ft 4ins tall, weighed 262lb, and ran the 100mtrs in 10.70secs, illness caused him to retire aged 32, and he died 18th November 2015 from a hear t attack associated with a kidney condition. R.I.P. The next video you should watch is Nigel Owens, a welsh referee who really keeps these Big Boys in check, and he's funny as well. Enjoy the Journey.

I was at the game where Botha headbutted jimmy Cowan on the ground. It happened right in front of us and is now forever an infamous moment in rugby. He got sent off for doing that. I like to think our booing helped the ref decide to review what occurred.

kiwi female 62 yrs as a fan of rugby and my home team the all blacks, as a resl suppirter of the game of rugby I love it when we play south africa, france, australia, some of the bedt rivalries anywhere in the world, both skill-wise and physical match ups, just awesome! whats changed are yhe 'laws' of rugby to keep players alot safer when being tackled and when tackling, so much so that now in 2025 alot of the 'harder' tackles you see are now illegal, and nothing towards a players head😊

The Burgers are not brothers. Jacques played for Namibia and Schalk ( pronounced SK in Afrikaans) played for the springboks. Was part of the world cup winning team in 2007. His father was also a springbok. The family is into winemaking

RIP Jonah Lomu - the first world superstar of rugby. He left us far too soon. Off the field most of these people are lovely - the terrifying looking Sebastian "Caveman" Chabal was wonderful, gentle guy, for instance. But you wouldn't want to meet them at full flight on a rugby pitch!

Rubbish,more people get injured in boxing,motor racing,ice hockey,snow ski, wrestling and many more,yes it is brutal but best to be tough before attempting to play.To call it stupid shows you know npthing about the spot,an old saying,football(english not american)is a gentlemans sport played by hooligans,Rugby is a hooligans sport played by gentleman,yes on field its rough but of field we have a beer.
