It's appropriate that among TOP 10 most impactful list for Genesis, Minerva has several spots, she simply has the best legs...I meant best balance between style and playability, when a waifu deck happens to be competitive, you know the price will be through to roof (looking at my G unit minerva and fully-built D Minerva deck [Ughhh the promos are expensive] along with several Minerva-themed official accessories like deck box, playmat, etct) Yeah...I am one of them XD

Interested to see how you would handle Kagero. Most of the overlords be it pre v or v are certainly very noteworthy in the meta, impact, and popularity wise. Not sure if you are going to diversify it to make it more interesting, but I certainly hope you may consider reserving a section outside of your top 10 to talk about the rest of the honourable overlords.

It's gonna definitely have a lot of overlords but I do think that there will be a few spots for outside cards like zeigenburg and dragonic blade master souen. Kagero unfortunately suffered from a severe lack in diversity when it came to its successful decks unfortunately, but I'd still say 3-4 cards on the list aren't overlord so it isn't too terrible

@@godsman00 Great! Well I mean, it’s unfortunate but kagero at least in pre v, where I used to spend more time at, evolved around treating overlords as it’s clan. Fondly remembered using DOTR+ DOBR and burnouts to win tournaments then. Not sure if DOTR will end up on your list, but maybe you may consider splicing noteworthy combinations together? Like destiny and purge as 1 entry and DOTR and DOBR as 1 entry as well?

@@Sh-qc1eh I actually found DOTR+DOBR to be my single favorite BR deck aside from revengers, insanely fun deck with cool mix of burst and control, so I totally feel you there. I think what I'll do is give a unit a spot but assign them a "partner in crime" when it's applicable. This came up a few times in these top 10s so far, like with the legion units or RFD with Mordred, so yeah I'll do that here. Destiny+Purge in particular is going to warrant this because they just weren't part in parcel; they were also pretty equal in their contribution to Overlord's late G success. That's also why I'll have to bring up V The End when explaining V The X (cuz you already know it's gotta be on there lol), so a few entries are gonna need this it seems.

Genesis was and is still in this pirates top 4 list for the entirety of the game. Himiko Reverse , Goddess of good luck Fortuna ( her LB version) Minerva and White snake witch mint are my fave cards for Genesis❤ though I still feel the older versions of Minerva and Fortuna are better then their newer counterparts

Man there's some great nostalgia there, Mint was especially fun for her time! I can see the argument for the newer ones not being quite as good in some respects tho in fairness I think they did fine as retrains (fortuna was rather intriguing although it could get a little stale after awhile). But yeah totally agree, Genesis is just so incredible, it has that sublime combination of engaging play style and breathtaking aesthetics, it's 2nd favorite behind ye ol paladins and I doubt that'll ever change lol.

@@godsman00 Agreed, the thing that really sets the older and new retrains apart however is their individual pools of support cards that are available to them.. why I feel that the LB original Minerva is far superior to her new version… if you could use the older support cards with the new versions….. that would be a completely different kettle of fish. And white snake witch mint is still my favorite of the legion decks, again because of her available support. Lastly my all time fave deck in the game is still old school LB Mesmerizing witch Fianna deck❤️ despite the fact that it’s incredibly outdated the mechanics and style of play is something I have NEVER seen repeated in vanguard.. in many ways I like some things the older vanguard did and had available to players then this newer updated more socially acceptable one

@@Queenofthesevenseas Agreed, support pools are a biggie, and ngl V retrains in particular made support very linear and easy which is unfortunate as older vanguard required more thought to get the most out of your units. Oh snap nice! Not gonna cap I'm a Shadows main so we're definitely vibing here, though I'm a Revengers goon at heart so there's the split lol. You mentioned Genesis being top 4, what're the others?

@@godsman00 The V retrains made the support Very Linear I agree a bit to simplistic for my taste honestly. I much preferred the more complexity thought provoking approach that the older units tasked the players with. As like you said older vanguard required more thought to get the most out of your units as well as your deck. ( their was to a point more flexibility with what the older game offered as well. You a revenges main mm🐉 I liked revenges as well just no cute goth girls available as a main vanguard 👻 though I did play Phantom blaster overlord for a fair amount of time. Genesis is number 4, other three are #1..Angel Feathers❤️ absolutely love the style of play and the mechanics ( still sad not to see anything like it in the new era of vanguard) #2.. Granblue ( more specificity Night Rose and Cocytus Reverse) #3.. is a mix.. Pale moon and Bermuda as I played both equally ( I love the complexity and depth you could achieve with the decks, much like granblue actually) Guess that explains why I have found the new standard format a bit underwhelming 🥶 And while I will admit their are definitely decks in standard that requires more strategic thinking and execution 😩 none of them interest me as much as the older cards do… Save perhaps monster strike that’s a Japanese exclusive 😭 And I’d actually probably be playing new Minerva or Luquier as my main standard decks however I found them both very underwhelming not complex Enuf and severity lacking in flexibility and availability of a good card pool… Still to date have not found an English deck I want to build… based on my actual interests and tendency I’m wondering if that will happen at all? Side note I actually very much loved Jewel knights as well❤️❤️ and I would be tempted to main the deck if it was available in the standard format

What am i supposed to say, These guys are weird, gods and deities that fulfilled their Aesthetics and playstyles, made the players feel like a god, and made me cry during V with Valkerion turbo BS. And fenrir.... Insert Joker Shoma Meme. And here i am just sitting there with my overlords and maelstroms and other dragons i cant remember that well, just trying to be cool. Then my opponent summons literal jesus and swings for like 4 crits.
