I disagree with the Cass R and Ekko W picks. To me, they're both just AoE stuns, and there's not a lot of uniqueness in that. Everything else on the list was unique in that they were all abilities that only a single champion had, and there aren't even a handful of other abilities you could liken them to. However, Cass' R and Ekko's W are just AoE stuns, and Cass' R might be a slow instead while Ekko's W is a slow that can be a stun and shield. You can easily liken these to a whole host of other abilities in League, while most of the others on the list are actually unique and have nearly no other ability like them in the game.

+Suigen Yukiouji My thoghts exactly. I would exchange Cass' R with Zilean's and Ekko's W with Jarvan's R. In my opinion, those are way more unique and in Jarvan's case, a lot cooler. But to be fair, this list must have been really hard to make (we have 126 champions, with the 127th on the way) and looking through all of their skillset must have been really hard. I like Singed's poison trail. Quite unique really. I can't think of any champs that has the same mechanic and it creates a unique gameplay. Basically, you're gonna have to run away to deal damage. Not the best killing blow but how many times have I seen one or several champs start to chase a low hp Singed and suddenly realise that their health melted away while chasing... Plus his other other abilities combine really well with his q.

Coincidentally my friend and I debated this question yesterday, and after much discussion we concluded that the most unique ability of a champion is Kalista's passive. While all other abilities supplement combat and champion interaction, Kalista's passive alters the game mechanic structurally. To us it seems strange that only Kalista has this mechanic, and that perhaps that it would make more sense (not necessarily for a better game, just logistically), for all ranged champions to share this trait.

Really? Cass' R at number five? It's basically a stun/slow that takes a minute to wind up. It isn't that unique. Like, Viktor's W acts in a similar manner over time instead of all at once, or Ashe's arrow, which will slow the champs around you and stun you if you position yourself wrong, or Leo's R which also has a pretty clear warning period... Need I go on? Personally, I think Ori's R makes for a more interesting skill, with the high versatility and ability to completely reposition the enemy team. There's also a high skill cap involved, because you know it sucks when you want to fling the enemy chasing you far, far away and only bring it back to the ball's center, or worse, accidentally fling the enemy towards you. Knowing where to position your ball in team fights or while running away/after someone, knowing when to set the ability off, and having to judiciously choose when to save it even if the enemies are positioned pretty okay are all just scratching the surface of the ult. And playing against a skilled Ori player? Hot damn, that Ball can be terrifying. Especially when you know her ult is up. Getting into that perfect position to land a kill and then suddenly being tossed to the nearest ADC lying it wait? Ouch.

My favourite abilities are Fiora's Grand Challenge (R), Braum's Unbreakable (E), Swain's Ravenous Flock (R) and Yasuo's Steel Tempest (Q). Of the 4, the best is Grand Challenge. There's nothing quite like getting under the enemy's skin by outpacing their escape or dodging all their attacks. Well, sometimes, that is. The majority of ult casts result in the enemy using their Flash to escape, so I just Lunge + Bladework onto a single vital and hope for the best.

even though its old, i think Nasus's siphoning strike should have been on here because its the only ability that can increase its own damage to infinite levels. Thresh and Veigar both increase the stats rather than the actual ability damage. This makes siphoning strike really unique because its the only ability of its kind in the entire game. it can consistently go from a lackluster on hit effect ability to the highest damage ability in its game.

Ekko's W is a denial zone that if you think Ekko can jump in you basically are at risk of dying and you're forced to stay away. That's hardly interesting gameplay for anyone but the Ekko player. His ult at least requires risk and predicition to set-up and has a much more noticable impact when used well.

I think it's interesting that you'd choose Ekko as a champion, but pick his W instead of his R. I think Chronobreak is much more unique. His W is basically Viktors stun cage with minor configurations. And I would swap Cassio's R for Thresh's lantern. That is definitely one of the most unique and interesting abilities in League. Ever since it hit live it has changed the face of bot lane, mid game and late game for pretty much all games with a Thresh in it.

the problem on cassis ult, isn't that its animation is long, but that whether its bugged or the tooltip is wrong. the tooltip doesn't say anything about a casting time, till the actual effect takes place but its not an instant cast like an ashe ult its more like a jinx ult, that has an animation and then fires off (aka a channel) but its not displayed as a channeled ability so yeah.. you cannot do really instinct plays, since you most of the times die, while doing that ult animation

Where's Urgot's Ult Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser? Good for putting them in your towers range. If your chasing someone & get it off you just put yourself in front of them so they can't even flash out then. Or you can just pop it of to stun someone & fear there team, very helpful to protect someone. When it's your group vs theirs & they're grouped up just pop it off to stun the guy, throw him right in the middle of your team all alone, & scare away the enemy team at the same time.

TBH idk why you focused exclusively in Heimer's ult turret, when you had the whole ult. It is the only ultimate in the entire game that adapts based on what the player needs at the moment, and that has three vastly different outcomes. The turret means a huge amount of AoE damage, that must be dealt over time and can be ran away from, the rockets usually mean focus down a single carry and are easier to dodge. The grenade gives Heimer a HUGE AoE crowd control at the cost of low damage (for an ult) and the fact the cast puts the actual skill on cooldown is also unique enough on its own. It doesn't make sense to just focus on the tower, when the whole ult is so versatile and unique.

Though I agree with most of the list, I think Ekkos R interaction is more unique than his W, and Cassio's R isn't that unique at all but for the cool stone particle effect. If anything, maybe TFs ult or W (Global reveal+TP or Pick a card mechanic), Xeraths ex-W (self CC in exchange of massive range) or Teemos shroom (yeah, hellish, but only one capable of placing non-capped amount of cc+dmg traps that are actually targetable). And honorable mention to Urgots acid-seeking mechanic :P

Seeing a lot of down votes on the Ekko W but I agree with it pretty heavily. It's an ability that you can really play mind games and make big moves around. I saw someone else further down mention using up space to dummy your W being cast then going to it's actually location. This is especially relevant seeing as your W is invisible to your opponents until it is like 1.5 seconds or so from hitting it's target location. It's a very intimidating ability and a very volatile part of his kit. Yes, there are plenty of AOE stuns in League, but it's not exactly the same as any other, looking at cases like Annie or Leona. You can see those coming from a mile away and your only instinct is to dodge. Ekko's W can be a fail safe, bluff or a plain screw up.

+Lolo Nasus' Q is essentially the same thing as Veigar's Q, just the AD version. Not really unique. Nunu's ult is similar to Galio's ult, swapping the taunt out for a slow instead. Tibber's wasn't unique even before Morde's rework, Shaco's ult is similar. Anivia wall isn't unique either, it just creates an impassable area unless you use flash or something similar, there's Azir's ult, there's Jarvan's ult that do the same thing. Sion's ult is just Rammus' Q with a longer cooldown and harder to control. Now this one's kind of a stretch, and you may not see it this way but I do, but Urgot's ult is similar to Nautilus' Q, I mean it pulls the enemy from where they are, and it pulls you from where you are, and you don't technically switch places but it's nearly there. The Shen ult I can see where you're coming from, and it is kind of unique, but there's Soraka with her ult, and some could see that as similar. Rek'Sai's vision thing is just being able to see where enemies are, which can be done with a few wards, TF ult, Rengar ult etc, but I do think it's unique.

No mention of bard's ult though... AOE zhonyas that effects allies, enemies, neutrals, AND TURRETS at a massive range on a fairly low CD

Would you put any of Kindred's abilities in this list, Jeremy? I think their ultimate is very strong and has the same "mechanics" as, say, Bard's R, meaning you either turn a teamfight around or throw it.

I hate the turrets that heimerdinger uses now. I played in season 2 and the best part about them were that they did splash damage on every hit, reduce magic resist and armor that stacks and with ult it heals turrets completely and gives them a slow. idk why they changed it up now to make it not that strong and effective it was like in the pass. they basically redid heimerdinger to build him around his rockets mainly.
