I feel the more hyped popular armies from isanguard and mordor also get played by casual, less experienced players, which will skew the results.

I actually think the Minas Morgul losses are from taking too many morannons, they are expensive, 50% more than a standard orc. The do not get blades or two handers. A few might be good to block some shooting but that's about it.

I do think you still have bad matchups like Rivendell knights, Mirkwood rangers etc, anything with Stg 3 shooting that can kite well.

I hope my beloved Rivendell will get better once Glorfindel, The Twins, Erestor and Gildor come to play when AoME finally arrives. (yeah yeah Erestor & Gildor are "legacy" but let's face it: people are gonna play em'). The army rules kinda suck but the collection of heroes are great and Riv Knights are p. solid this edition. Spamming Wrath of B with Arwen was nice but I'd like to play with some more "killy" configurations with the new heroes to go with the knights or knights with warrior support. Both Elrond and Glorfindel are so much more killy this ed. with the new two-handing combined with LotW, higher Fv, Glorfindel's new rules etc. that I really want to run both of those LotW badasses at 800. God I hope the twins are good this time around; 3A would kick ass on top of their dual blade rule but unfortunately they'll probably just bump em' to Fv7 and call it a day. They need to either get upgraded to 3A or remain 2A but with a much more reasonable price point to justify having to take them both in a single Fortitude slot (which is a massive handicap).

I love tabletop admiral but most tournaments in the uk already use longshanks and I don’t see them all switching over.

They aren't mutually exclusive! TTA just allows you to record your post game stats and for TOs to put their tournaments on a map, there's nothing on there for TOing in an event.

The unique players stat is interesting because it vaguely implies the number of people who try a faction once, dont click with the themes and mechanics and move on to others. Some of these lists look good but just require a mindset shift... others look like they just wouldnt be that fun so nobody wants to put the time into playing it. Thats what I see in Muster of Isengard. Generally the list is okay, but its not that cool so whether you win or lose, the opponent's list has the flashier toys.

@32:40 you mention Watcher in the Water sitting on the middle objective, but you can't overlap objectives anymore! I have actually played the WitW in a low points game of Hold Ground and it was absolutely disgusting. Was up against Defenders of the Pellenor with Dead of Dunharrow and he just ate them all.

Honestly think they need to take hand and a half weapons away from elf warriors or increase their points by 1. Compare how much value you get over a ministrith warrior for 1 extra point.

Elf warriors have always been undercoated statwise but it's been balanced by their expensive heroes and the fact that high model count is usually very good in scenarios.

I think that is normal that we are not seeing any War of the Rohirrim lists in tournaments, given that all of them are between unimpresive (Army of Edoras) and terrible (Besiegers of the Hornburg)…

Andrew did point out that Usurpers of Edoras made it onto the list at lower points, but you might be right about the other War of the Rohirrim armies.

What's stopping elrond from using foresight points on maelstrom his rule says pre deployment so he doesn'thave to be on the board?

You roll to determine how many Foresight points you get pre-deployment, but you can only spend them after Elrond is on the table.

@ very true, that's a big weakness right now but getting D6 front line and the drum mitigates that a little. It'll also get better when we get less shooting-dominant scenarios!

Yeah totally agree, this was a just a fun episode - we are definitely not wanting people to read too much into this. Hopefully at the end of the year we can do a more accurate and comprehensive review (hopefully filter by tournament only games too)!

​@@intothewestpodcastbut it explains my biggest problem with the current version of the lists.. they are all split in different points values.. all mentioned armies became weaker once it reaches 700-800 points and other lists as pelenor, Fornost, men of the west and others only become viable on 700++ .. I hope it will change with the army book once it's released.. otherwise I'm afraid we will always see a bunch of repeating lists depending on points in the near future
