Thanks for giving some love to "Third Rock from the Sun." I've seen every episode several times over, and the jokes just keep getting better. John Lithgow, Kristen Johnston, French Stewart and Joseph Gordon Levitt really played off of each other supremely well, get the aliens' clueless eccentricities spot on.

I love 'Third Rock'. I became a fan immediately on its premier broadcast. My DVR is set to record reruns. And my all time favorite episode is their first Thanksgiving. They assume the world is coming to an end when they see the 'mayhem' at the grocery stores. The writing was pure genius. To this day, John Lithgow still says it's his favorite job. 👍🏿

Rest in Peace, Phil Hartman. Bill was always one of the most entertaining characters in "Newsradio", and the episode dealing with Bill's untimely death shows many cast members clearly struggling to hold themselves together. This shows how well liked and respected Hartman was to work with.

It's just forgotten more than underrated. Also, if you didn't know, the rights for most of the music played on the show expired, so they can't play the songs that were in the episodes. The owners of the show could pay for them again, but it was too expensive for the return. It's a shame.

I love 3rd Rock from the Sun and Spaced. The IT Crowd was great too and I never hear anyone talk about that show.

My Niece was stationed in IT in her army service and when she expressed her frustration with the system and her superiors I showed her _The IT Crowd._ as soon as she heard the first" Hello, have you tried turning it OFF and ON again?" she burst out laughing in catharsis. It is apparently, just as relevant today as it was 15 years ago.

Coolest thing about Raising Hope (besides Garrett Dillahunt who’s brilliant in everything) is that the kid who played Hope was the same from pilot to finale. And she was a great little actress!

It’s a shame that the Middle didn’t get the recognition it deserved. Speaking of that, I always found it interesting that Patricia Heaton was always cast as a woman who couldn’t cook when in reality, Patty herself is a great cook; she even had an (also underrated) cooking show on Food Network called Patricia Heaton Parties (which won an Emmy in its second season).

I agree with you. This show is incredible. I read on Wikipedia that Ricki Lake was either supposed to play Frankie Heck or was considered (I can't remember which). I won't even say that I can't see that, but honestly I love Patricia Heaton in this role probably even more than as Debra on Everybody Loves Raymond.

News Radio was a great show. I didn't watch until it went into syndication but it was really funny with a great cast including Dave Foley, a young Joe Rogan and Phil Hartman. Sadly, the show was never the same after Phil Hartman was killed. Still a great watch.

@3:56, according to D.L. Hughley in his book "I Want You to Shut The F Up", during a table read for an upcoming episode, ABC producers wanted him to wear a dress in that episode. He adamantly refused to do that so ABC cancelled his show, and UPN then picked it up. Honorable mentions: "My Wife and Kids", "Step by Step" and "George Lopez"

Malcolm in the Middle, Everybody hates Chris, and The Goldbergs are very good underrated shows. The TV show Benson was never overshadowed by the television show Soap, it was his own TV show, very different.

I never really watched "Malcolm in the Middle" when it was on but I heard it was hilarious. "Everybody Hates Chris" is one of my favorite shows and I've seen some of "The Goldbergs". I think it's pretty good.

When I think about underrated sitcoms, I mostly think about old sitcoms that modern audiences are totally unfamiliar with even though they were popular at the time. Three's Company, Alice, WKRP in Cincinnati, Gimmie a Break, Designing Women - there's so many shows that were popular at the time but kind of just fell into the dusty bin of occasional references, where younger people today are totally unfamiliar with John Ritter's amazing physical comedy, "Kiss my grits!", the Great Turkey Drop and the Sugarbakers. It's a shame.

WKRP in Cincinnati should be on this list! I'd also include the mid80s sitcom Double Trouble starring the Sagal twins. It only lasted for 2 seasons, and the show was completely retooled between the two. The second season is the better.

I love 3rd Rock From The Sun!!! It's so funny, especially John Lithgow performance in comedy 🤣 😂 especially the celebrity guest stars that they had like the gorgeous Cindy Crawford, William Shatner, the hilarious and late Phil Hartman, Kurtwood Smith, and former Chicago Bulls player Dennis Rodman. Plus this show made Joseph Gordon-Levitt a huge star and now he's a Oscar nominated actor. I also like Benson

I was quite young when 3rd Rock from the Sun was on, but I distinctly remember one episode where they were broke I think? They brought some cheap tinned food, and they were eating it when their human friend told them it was cat food. Even now all these years later it still makes me giggle 🤭

I think My Wife and Kids is a very underrated show. Damon Wayans and Tisha Campbell are hilarious, it was well acted, funny and definitely not a typical sitcom. It got canceled too soon. Same thing can be said about My Name is Earl.

Sitcoms are my favorite medium. I loved and watched all of these (minus the UK ones I've never heard of). But my absolute favorite of all times is The Middle. I own the DVDs and just got done watching all 9 seasons for the.... I can't remember... time. But When it came out, my kids were similar ages and I could swear they had cameras in our house spying to get their ideas for the shows. And the actors that played the kids did such a great job. Of course Patricia and Neil were awesome as well. When I come home with fast food I always yell, "Mom made dinner."

The number one most underrated sitcom is also the best show af all time - WKRP in Cincinnati! Everyone knows the Thanksgiving episode, but the whole thing is so funny, great cast chemistry, and full of heart! Underrated actor on the show is Tim Reid, who brought a racial sensitivity to the show.

War at Home. Only got 2 seasons, but Rami Malek's first appearance on screen as a troubled gay teen in love with his straight best friend was comedy gold. Rami's star power even then was apparent. Truly deserved more seasons.

One I’ve recently gone back to is Titus. It only lasted three seasons because of time slot inconsistency, but Christopher Titus has put all the episodes on KZbin. It’s a forerunner to the mockumentary style commonly seen in today’s sitcoms, and virtually every episode is a Bottle Episode.

Before I started this video, I thought to myself "NewsRadio" better be on it. And as I watched and watched, I kept thinking "It's really not going to be here" (despite a clip earlier in the video). I was floored to find it #1 on the list! It's my all-time favorite show. I watched it in its original run. Thank you for not only including "NewsRadio" but for having it at the top of the list. Always great to see this underrated show get some attention.

I'd have to add "Living Single", bounced around by Fox until the ratings fell through the floor. "Sports Night", which was left in the dust because Aaron Sorkin wanted to focus on The West Wing. "Frank's Place" which hit on everything and was canceled because it offended the CBS brass. With the exception of Living Single, I don't think the other two are available to watch anywhere.

I still watch 3rd Rock. I think the best ep is Auto Eurodicka, in which Dick has a ONS with a hot divorced woman whom he later finds out is the mother of one of his students.

Third Rock and NewsRadio are the best! I would also add two that people hear about and immediately dismiss: The Nanny, and Reba. The one-liners/episode ratio of these shows is sky high. Especially Reba. Watch it with my teenager, and my 75 yr old parents, and I’m 50. And all of us be laughing so loudly, we frequently have to back it up 10 seconds to catch the next joke we missed.

Happy Endings and New Adventures of Old Christine. And Mom was pretty popular but to me it was having one of its funniest years when it got canceled.
