Fight Club screwed up by casting Ed Norton after Norton had done Final Confession. Halfway through, I half guessed/half-joked that Norton was gonna have/fake/be the alter-ego. Factoring in that I'm not the last living genius on earth, as evidenced for all the hot sex I haven't been having to liven up the gene pool, others must've guessed likewise. Norton continued the tradition by being a rational person trapped in the body of a Nazi skinhead.

I didn't read it or watch it, but I figured the ending would be something like that. All of the trailers made too big a deal about the guy. Making it look like he was guilty though he was reporting his missing wife. That just lead to the idea that she wasn't really dead and set him up. I didn't know why, but it wasn't a surprise.

It's a Wonderful Life had somewhat of a plot twist, where George is taken to the cemetery with Clarence and learns that had he not been born, his brother would have died in the lake and not gone into the military to save the boat that killed hundreds of men. All the other tombstones in the graveyard turned out to be those men that died from George's absence. Still shook today.

Gone Girl is one of the greats. I love how they managed to make it entirely plausible, the differences in her character between chapter 1 and chapter 2 didn't feel forced in the name of shock value. It's an extremely well fleshed out story both in book and movie form, and the choice of actress just hit the home run as she can be so incredibly cute on one hand, and scary AF on the other.

Soylent Green's ending was awesome (although it was heart-wrenching when Edward G. Robinson died in the film, already having been diagnosed with the cancer that would kill him in real life shortly after the movie wrapped). I enjoyed the movie so much I had to read the book it was based on, Harry Harrison's "Make Room! Make Room!" The book doesn't have the same ending, and is honestly a slog to get through.

By far my vote for best “didn’t see it coming” twist is definitely “Gone Girl”!

what did you not see coming? curious as its quite obvious.

Correction: NOBODY knows what’s in the box. They never concretely reveal what is in it. Nobody even says what it is.

John says he took her head and her face is shown for like a millisecond after the box arrives so yeah, it's heavily implied that her head is what's in the box
@Jadzebra4 жыл бұрын
We know it's her head if you just pay attention to the movie lol there are moments when you see her face for a second, plus you never see her again.

Are we so sure that Seven is a "non-horror" film? Because it's more horror than most horror films out there.

Turns out the Old Boy movie version is way more messed up than the Manga. Usually it's the other way around.

Glad you guys included classic movies like Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes and Chinatown, a foreign movie like Oldboy and a lesser known movie like the fantastic Arlington Road. Another movie to include would've been a French movie called A La Folie, Pas Du Tout. (English title: He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.)

Assuming one counts Skeleton Key as a Thriller and not a Horror movie, it should also be on this list. Without giving away too many details, SK could easily be seen as the spiritual predecessor to Get Out.

The Life If David Gale had a unsetting plot twist. A man on death row for killing his girlfriend claiming he’s innocent is finally executed at the end of the film. Then the twist comes when a recording of the murder is delivered and it’s discovered it wasn’t murder. It was a suicide. The two had come up with this plan as a way to discredit capital punishment. She had tided a bag over her head then hand cuffed her hands behind herself. Then you see him step in front of the camera and shut it off. He would keep saying he was innocent until he was put to death and then the video would be released. It was a plan to show how easily innocent people can be tried convicted and executed.
