Well done Boss. Some very enticing rides for sure. Kudos to you how well you handle the black runs as you do. Maybe above my pay grade but enjoy watching how well you handle them. This vid is a keeper!

Next time you are in Fruita stop by Over The Edge and ask about the Wheezing Geezer's. It's a group of older gentlemen that like to ride.

Ron, thanks for putting this together. I am heading out to Fruita last part of October. Would it be preferred to out and back western rim? Appears to be somewhat remote to access trailhead.

Well that’s the big decision. The first time I rode the trail, I had another vehicle to shuttle with and we parked at the Rabbit Valley campground on the eastern end of the region and the second vehicle just off the highway in the western end. If you have the Trailforks app, the western end has a parking spot called Western Rim. And we then did an end to end ride using the BLM dirt roads to access the trail on both ends. The second time I rode it I didn’t have a shuttle so I parked at the Western Rim parking spot and rode the dirt road all the way to the eastern end of the Western Rim trail - it’s about 6 miles of double track. I then rode Western rim east to west and then joined back onto the gravel road to ride back to my vehicle. I prefer the second option. You will see from the map that to do an out and back along the Western Rim trail that the ride would be longer than trying to loop the trail using there road along/above the trail. And yes, the trail is very remote and so is the parking at the western spot…there isn’t a formal parking lot, just a big grassy area. And thanks for watching, should be an awesome trip!
