Actually preques are the thing (even more than sequels)in last few years and are proof that there is a lack of imagination and risk taking today, something like situation during the 1990's when sci-fi was better than today, there are some good things even today, The Expanse was one very very good Sci-fi show and i liked Raised by Wolves but in general there are many Sci-fi shows in terms of quantity but not much quality
