Found your channel through the Live in Italy Magazine interview last Sunday! I'm so thrilled to have found you two! My great great grand parents were from Sicily. My great great grandfather and mother were from Palermo..I was given a book on our ancestors. The story about my Italian familia is incredible! I've wanted to go to Sicily for my whole life! I named my youngest daughter Cicilie Marie Cinquemani Falbo! I have five grown children! Gave them all my maiden name as a one of their middle names. Cinquemani "FiveHands"

@@YouMeandSicily oh my goodness! I want to go so badly! I'm not married and have been flying solo for almost 30 years .. I see everyone going as couples! I do everything by myself which is okay, it's just that I often wonder what the locals might think of a senior woman traveling by herself and sitting alone in the restaurants etc...I like being able to try new things and often think to myself my GF's hubby's are all stick in the muds! So I would go by myself of course, just wondering what the Italians might think about that!? You talked about walking down the streets of where our ancestors lived worked and raised their families... That is something I would like to do as well. The question I always ask myself is why did they leave such a beautiful country on earth to live!? My great grandmother was born on the ship along with her twin brother. My great great grandmother was pregnant with their first child and had no idea she was carrying twins. My great great grandfather came before her establishing his shoe store in the French Quarter. She didn't know when she set sail for New Orleans, Louisiana that the ship would encounter extremely bad weather and for 2 mos and they were out to sea where she gave birth to my great grandmother and uncle. My great grandmother Lillie, was my grandfather's mother who he was the eldest of their 7 children, Joseph Bernardo Cinquemani. The stories I've heard and the records I have of my family tree are incredibly interesting to me and I have pictures of her and I look almost just like her! I love everything Italian, my married name Falbo, I kept, because of the Falbo children. Mrs Falbo told me many stories of their family history and that they were from Calabria.. She gave me my first pasta queen machine 40 years ago and I love making homemade ravioli spaghetti and fettuccini... My sauce here in our family is famous! I've been told by many it's the best they've ever tasted! Some say I should bottle it! Lol! I really look forward to a trip there and I'm wanting find a big map of Italy and hang it on my wall in my great room where I can learn the land..I also want to learn to speak Italian..I think that's very important before traveling there. I want to at least have some connections with others before traveling to a foreign country by myself. When I go it definitely be an extended trip. I will be staying for at least 3 months. I'm going to do my homework first and I look forward to learning all I can from you two, by subscribing to your channel as well as the magazine. She has great content in it as well as your channel. Have a beautiful day over in Sicily, I wish I were there now, but all I still can do now is still dream! Sincerely, Annette Cinquemani Falbo, Ciao!
