When it comes to doing big cases the long way sometimes that's the only way it's going to work. Whenever we have like five or six cases of like the Excel meat or something it's 5 to a layer so 2 of them have to go the long way to fill out the layer.

Another great video Tim, for sure this should help trainees. To be honest this stuff is not talked about in training. I would like add some other things to this. Knowing the pivot point on jack, when turning use your hips not your shoulder. Know which side of the aisle is odd/even. Learn the layer, if the layer is 6 don't squeeze 8 into that block and have a overhang. Build your dense pallets not swiss cheese. Know what your headset is saying, you should be able to repeat it would for word. Lastly and most importantly have realistic goals. Ask your trainer, to do 100% how do I have to move per hour in cases per hour and weight moved. At my place, 250+ cases per hour and 10k to 15k pounds per hour moved. When you have that understanding you can set goals.

Thanks, man! Day 3 after training. I've lost at least one skid every day. Mostly the back corners. I realise now where I'm going wrong. Taking corners too fast/Rushing in general, low corners, trying to make things fit. Not interlocking those awkward corners. And trying to save time by not giving it a mid wrap at chest height. The frustration got to me today lost same corner three darn times. If I had just calmed down i could have done it right after the first mishap.

I had the same problem for like 3 days. My brain could just not figure out that whatever way you turn the handle that's the way the wheels are going to go. At this point I'm much more comfortable driving forks forward then the other way. And I get yelled at about it constantly.

A tip for new people: when lifting, try to have your head level as you are half bent over. Helps Keeping you from being bent over too far. Tim, you see anyone doing textbook lifting like the training videos instruct?
@TheWarehouseSeries2 жыл бұрын
Very few do. I would say 95% lift poorly
@Sonoma_Coast2 жыл бұрын
@@TheWarehouseSeries I think one way someone lifts correctly if they are recovering from a back problem. Happens with me until you get back to good.

Every piling mistake can be avoided if the picking notes are planned correctly (with the size, shape and weight of the goods in mind). Most of picking notes are nonsense. They just follow the shortest route instead of stacking heave products at the bottom.
