One thing I can't play the Switch without are the cat paw thumb grips on my joycons! Without them I literally have no "grip" and my thumbs slip off the lil joysticks. I mean, they don't HAVE to be in cat paw design in particular, but... ... ... for my aesthetics they do :)

For the glass protectors get the ones sold with the (yellow) spacer. Really makes the whole installation a MUCH more pleasant experience

I also have the bed stand thingy, although i had to make some changes since it was made to hold a phone (lots of duck tape was used). I hurt my shoulder last year pretty badly and i couldn't hold my switch comfortably or even sit and play using pro-controller since it kinda kept my arms/hands in one position. The best position was to lay in bed, arms on my sides and to that the joy-cons were the best. I basically look like a corpse while playing but at least i can play and that's what's important! 😂

Playing on my switch is my ultimate hibernation activity. I only play curled up in a chair in the fetal position so I'm glad I got the switch lite. The proper switch looks huge in comparison, I wouldn't be able to curl up properly haha

Another good accessory is the Fixture S1. It's basically a holder for the Switch that attaches it to the pro controller so you can play handheld using your pro controller instead of joy con. The only drawbacks are that it adds a little weight to the Switch and most knock off pro controllers don't fit.

Thanks for this video. One of the things that really interested me was when you talked of getting pins and needles playing your switch in bed. I have chronic pain due to a back injury so just assumed that the reason I was getting the pins and needles. So not only did it tell me that was not the case but also offered a great solution- so thank you. 😊

My best bed or couch playing tip is to get a book / tablet lap pillow. My kids and I have both an owl and a sloth versions of The Cuddly Reader from Thinking Gifts, but they have different monsters too. As long as they are shaped like a 3D triangle and have plush covered teeth to hold the Switch plus grip in, they are so comfy to have on your lap while giving you a raised platform to prevent neck strain. And a lot of them have small pockets on the back for storing your small headphones, earbuds, or game cards case.

HIGHLY also recommend the Hori controllers!!! I got the green Eevee/Pikachu ones and they held up so well. I'm known for giving my joycons the dreaded drift and it took them a lot longer to be affected lol. They also felt great while I was playing games.

What causes drift? My light, and 2 separate sets of joy cons have all done that to me.

No ditch those overpriced and dumbed down wired controllers and get a binbok joypad or funlab joypad Hori split pad pro is horribly priced for what is essentially a wired controller and if you want to use them docked you gotta fork out more for a second accessory a wired grip for the lamest switch controller You want what hori split pad should have been look into the binbok joy pad or funlab joypad controllers they have full wireless capability, motion controls, vibration and gyro. Third party wired controllers only usually go for $20-30 new wireless go for $30-60 do hori is charging high end wireless price for dumbed down wired controllers(most wired controllers after most to all features available on official controllers in the case of switch the 1 function rarely included on third party controllers of either sort is amiibo reader. I absolutely love all of my GeekShare products (I have a larger case, a travel case and many sets of thumb cap grips)! Highly recommend their items and I am looking forward to trying new products from them soon. I use the Satisfye Switch Grip to make my Switch easier and more comfortable to hold; had it for 3 years+ now and it is like new still. I can hold my Switch however I want and I don’t have to worry about it falling out as well as it having a stand built in too. Absolutely worth it and would buy another in a heartbeat if anything ever happened to it

Also anyone who's not a fan of the neo grips or split pads there's the fixture S1 for the og switch or the fixture S2 for the oled switch which fits your pro controller without the joycons attached. I love both as I have both and swap between the 2 😊

Fixture S1 (S2 for oled) is hands down the best accessory for handheld play especially as you use the superior Pro controller and the Fixture is fully adjustable 🕹 ❤

For a pretty good/cheap stand for Amiibos Target will occasionally have something that works in their $5 section. Got two black risers for my Amiibos and they work wonders. Only downside is that it seems once they’re gone, they’re gone

I have a switch lite, and I use a switch case with a screen protector that's all white so it has the illusion that it's a white switch, and mine came with built-in switch grips for a more comfy game style

Another thing i found with the non Nintendo pro controller was it would not turn on my switch remotely when it was docked. You know if you just press the button on the controller and it switches it on from sleep, this did not happen. It meant i had to remember to turn on my switch when docked before sitting and then put the switch into a very long time setting before it would auto sleep!

Took me WAY to long to buy a grip but it’s A LOT MORE COMFORTABLE. Looks like you lost the little piece on the Skull & Co that keeps the switch from falling out the top! There’s a clip so it should never fall out even if it get looser.

3:15 - As you can see in my pfp, it is well worth doing a hard shell swap since you can get colors that aren’t available officially but are still technically “Nintendo” due to the internals being the same. I definitely thought I was the same, not being able to DIY either but paying someone to do it(which was the price of 2 sets of Joycons), I started practicing on JoyCons that have seen better days & once I got decent at swapping them, I bought new pairs, and then moved on to Pro Controllers. Definitely give it a shot one of these days, you won’t regret it, and it allows you to have “official” JoyCons with a D-Pad.

My skull in co grips just like those but more recently purchased has a clip that goes on the top that holds it down too. I wonder if they sell those separately if yours didn’t come with one? But it is good to know it takes that long for it to loosen up 👍🏻

Oh, I have the Animal Crossing stand by HORI, it's so cute, but yeah, I used to use it more when I didn't have a TV. Nowadays I either use it handheld or docked. Idk why, but tbh, I don't find the Switch as uncomfortable to hold as everyone else is saying... I do have small hands, but... idk, maybe it's just me. I'd been thinking of getting the holder for my phone, but I guess I could also use it for my switch. Thanks for the tip

Honestly, the Nintendo Pro Controller might be the best controller out of the big 3 companies. If I didnt have issues syncing with my pc, Id be using it everywhere. Maybe a paddle version some day Nintendo?!

I had a cheaper controller which I thought was fine but after using my partners Pro Controller I had to go out and get one. I have one of those gooseneck things somewhere too, I never thought of using it for my Switch. Mine is also awkward and clunky to move.

I get the tempered glass but it also has an applicator (I do the same for my phone) so there is just no way to do it wrong. I, like you, can never put screen protectors on and now I can.

When I bought my TOTK OLED switch a few days before TOTK released, I bought myself a 128GB micro SD card, Nintendo branded, to go along with it. I bought it in Curry's, and at the time, It was actually the cheapest on the shelf! The one I bought was around £21, whereas all the third party ones of equal storage capacity were AT LEAST £32. So sometimes the Nintendo branded ones actually are cheaper! Another baffling thing was that the 64GB nintendo SD cards were £25! more expensive than the much larger 128GB!
