@@israeldiaz5580 you are correct if you try and count the 2 measures it is missing an 8th note at the end. If you try and count it, it is a bar of 4/4 time then a bar of 7/8. Or 1+2+3+4+,1+2+3+4,1+2+3+4+,1+2+3+4

The beauty in these riffs is their simplicity. Any broken youth can pick up a guitar and learn to play them over time. Kurt's punk rock influence was strong and his artist brilliance made the simplicity mean something. You don't need to be Clapton or Hendrix to convey emotion with strings, Heart Shaped Box is a testament to that.

I think I have to respectfully disagree that he wouldn’t have cared. He desperately famous but I really don’t think he would have been in love with the idea of someone covering his song. Not because he was selfish, he just didn’t like compliments/ nods of respect like this. He wanted to just be treated like a normal dude but fame changed that chances of that happening. And things like this made him really uncomfortable.

Yeah Curmudgeon is a great riff. For the tone, I just put a bit of gain on the clean channel then use my DS-1 over the top.
